President Trump's visit to SumSumter County Sheriff's Office-Floridarom the Sumter County Sheriff's Office:
Due to President Trump’s arrival to Sumter County on Friday, May 1, the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office wants to make the community aware of the impending traffic effects this will have on our roadways.
President Trump will be speaking at the Middleton High School campus at 3 p.m. Due to limited roadway capacity in the Middleton area, significant traffic delays are expected in and around the surrounding areas.
We strongly encourage residents and visitors to avoid the area, if possible. to help reduce congestion.
Road closures and detours will be in place to support the safe and efficient operation of the event.
For those driving to the event, please use Central Parkway to Landstone Blvd to access the venue. Parking will be very limited at the school and attendees should plan accordingly.
Doors will open at 11 a.m. Attendees will be subjected to TSA-style security screening and no bags are allowed.
We have been informed by event coordinators that the QR Code received after RSVPing does not guarantee entrance. Once capacity is reached, the venue will be closed, and individuals will be turned away.
We will continue to share information as it becomes available and work to minimize traffic impacts as much as possible. We ask that you please be patient with all involved while we are working to keep Sumter safe. Please continue to monitor our website and social media channels for updates.
