Happy Father’s Day to the guy who has spent 27 years putting up with me and 17 years helping raise a kid who is basically a combination of both of us.

Matt has spent years pretending he doesn’t want another dog, another project, or another random stop somewhere… and then ends up helping anyway.

Thanks for being the one who fixes things, carries the heavy stuff, drives when I don’t want to, and keeps us laughing

Looking for a fun (and free) way to kick off summer reading? Head to the Lake Wales Public Library's Summer Reading Kickoff Party today Thursday, June 11 at 10:30 AM.

This year's theme is Quest: Heroes, Myths & Legends, and the Florida Foam Factory is back with its foam cannon, DJ, and plenty of foam-filled fun. Kona Ice will also be on site with treats available for purchase. Just be sure to bring towels because the kids are going to get wet.

The event takes place in Oakley Park at the gazebo across from the library. If you're not familiar with it, Oakley Park is located between the railroad tracks and the Lake Wales Public Library.

Social media is full of people saying they felt today’s earthquake. What about Polk?

A 6.1 magnitude earthquake near Cuba was reported Monday, and people across parts of Florida are saying they felt a rumble. We’ve even seen comments from people claiming they felt it in Tampa.

Now we’re curious. Did anyone here in Polk County notice anything, or were we too busy trying to survive summer break?
