Fall weekends in Polk County get a little ridiculous, in the best possible way.

The full list of fall events will still be on the Polk County Moms calendar and in our Fall Guide. What I need your help deciding is how you want me to break down the upcoming weekend here on social media each week.

Would you rather see everything happening that weekend listed by date, broken down by category, or a hybrid of both?

Swipe through to see what I mean, then vote A, B or C in the comments.

I’m trying to make the weekly list something you can glance at and actually use without scrolling through 47 events wondering where the fall event or pumpkin patch went.

This has been one of my favorite places in Polk County for the last 25 years. If you haven’t been to The Barn - you need to put it on your list

From the classroom to the sports field and beyond, good vision is crucial for kids to be successful. 👓

That makes Fall the perfect time to check-in on your child's vision, according to Dr. Artis Beatty, OD, Chief Medical Officer at MyEyeDr.

If you’re looking for an easy way to support a local school and also solve the “what are we eating?” problem, here you go. Santa Fe Catholic Football is selling fully prepared smoked pork butts for $40 each, prepared by local BBQ competition pitmasters and ready to eat.

And this one is a little personal for me because my kid, Matthew, is on the Santa Fe Catholic football team, so I’d love to see the community help support these boys and their program.

Orders are due September 14, with pickup September 18 from 12–4 p.m. at Gil Kromer Pavilion.

Scan the QR code on the graphic or click link below. Good BBQ, no cooking, and you’re supporting local kids. That seems like a pretty solid deal to me.

Apparently my dishwasher has decided washing the dishes wasn’t enough. It would also like to wash the kitchen floor.

Nothing says “productive afternoon” quite like walking into the kitchen and finding water and a mountain of soapy foam coming out of the bottom of the dishwasher. So that’s going well.

Good news: I know a good plumber. Bad news: I was hoping not to need him today. What I have learned is the DIY everything is a bad idea when it comes to appliances. Please tell me I’m not the only one whose appliances occasionally choose violence.

Coffee and cows? Apparently that’s all it takes to make me happy.

Friday, Maggie Fernandez and I headed out to FARMERish Coffee Co. in Fort Meade for coffee, a little catching up, and the very important task of feeding the cows.

And just to be clear, this isn’t sponsored or an ad. It’s simply a place we wanted to check out and share with you. Although, for the record, we are absolutely not opposed to being paid to drink coffee and feed cows. Just putting that out into the universe.

Pumpkin Patch Nights is coming October 23!

We’re adding a family movie night to one of the pumpkin patch’s longtime traditions, and we need your help choosing what we watch. There will be s’mores, family fun, and a movie under the stars right in the pumpkin patch.

Swipe through the movie choices and pick your TOP 3 favorites. Then comment with the numbers only below. No need to type out the movie titles. We’ll leave voting open for one week, and the movie with the most votes will be the one we make arrangements to show.

Tag a family you want to meet at Pumpkin Patch Nights.
