There is nothing like watching iconic race cars run again.

Dale Earnhardt. Tony Stewart. Richard Petty. Machines restored to their period condition and brought back to life on track.

Seeing fans and owners keep these legends alive is huge for the sport and the growth worldwide has been incredible.

They say one man’s trash is another man’s treasure, but in the racing world, it’s all about the find.

In the latest episode of Late to Grid, Bill shares an incredible story of persistence and "car weirdo" luck that connected his 2024 and 2025 trips to the PRI Show.

Last year, Bill walked away from a Chip Ganassi Racing garage sale with an authentic wheel from Scott Dixon’s IndyCar—one that had been taken out of commission after a brush with the wall at Belle Isle. It was a legendary piece, but it was missing one thing: the rubber.

As any IndyCar fan knows, getting your hands on an authentic Firestone tire is nearly impossible because Firestone typically collects and shreds them after use.

While in Indy for PRI 2025, Bill jumped on Facebook Marketplace and found the "Marketplace Miracle"—a Firestone IndyCar display tire. In a snowy Saturday morning mission, he and Brian met the seller (who, in a small-world twist, used to live near our shop in Medina!) and secured the final piece of the puzzle.

The result? A complete Scott Dixon wheel and Firestone tire setup that’s officially headed back to the shop.

Hear the full saga of the Marketplace find, the logistics of hauling race tires in the snow, and more PRI highlights on the latest episode of Late to Grid! 🎧 Click the link in our bio to listen now.

Four words that will change your day and your outlook.

I learned this four word framework while researching an upcoming guest for the podcast. Mindset change.

What are you doing this growth season to be the best in 2026? Gym? Sim racing? Reviewing video and data? Is this the podium prep you need? Is there more?

Walking into a trade show without a plan leads to overload.

Preparation turns thousands of booths into real opportunities for growth, learning, and connection.

Sending sponsorship decks without knowing a company’s goals is why most pitches go nowhere. Racing partnerships work when the relationship comes first, not the price sheet. Ask better questions and you change the entire conversation.

AI does not have to be complicated.

One short conversation at PRI turned artificial intelligence into a practical tool for motorsports business growth.

This is why showing up, learning, and asking questions still wins.

That class photo was more than a picture. It was a community moment.

Everyone came together with excitement and teamwork and the atmosphere was awesome. When racers support each other like that the work feels light and the memories last.

These moments are the heart of grassroots motorsports.

The New Year is here, and it’s the perfect time to hit the reset button on whatever has taken your focus away from being your best. Whether you are aiming for a podium or just trying to get on track for the first time, becoming a better driver starts with becoming a better you.

We're offering up a challenge to kickstart your 2026 season by taking intentional steps toward personal growth. If you’re not growing, you’re dying—so let's get to work.

The Challenge:
- Dry January: No alcohol for the entire month to clear your head and sharpen your focus.

- Detail Your Goals: Write down your 2026 goals for racing, business, and life. (Check out our previous goal-setting episode for a roadmap!).

- Consistent Movement: Exercise at least four days a week. (Be sure to consult your doctor before starting any new program!).

- Nutrition for Performance: Follow a plan that fuels your fitness and racing goals.

- Fuel Your Passion: Spend a minimum of 1 hour a week consuming motorsports content—read, watch, or listen to sharpen your racing IQ.

Sometimes taking a few small steps to improve yourself will lead to massive results on the track. Let’s make 2026 your fastest year yet.

Are you in for the challenge? Let us know in the comments if you’re joining us for the January Reset!

Want to win One Lap of America?

Forget the dyno numbers.

Winning takes self-control, smooth inputs, and zero mistakes.
Last year? A nearly stock Cayman took the win. Not the fastest car, just the best drivers.

Power doesn’t make you fast. Skill does.

Drivers were pumped about their tire performance. Long run counts. Minimal fall off. Real praise from racers pushing hard in B Spec.

Hearing that kind of feedback from competitors we had never met says the product is doing exactly what racers need.

This is the energy that makes grassroots racing so special.

1989, Hallett. Brock Yates Sr. and Anatoly “Toly” Arutunoff decided: enough playing it safe. Let’s race.

That was the first SCCA point-to-point time trial in One Lap of America and nobody looked back.

The event grew, the format expanded, and grassroots drivers got what they always wanted: more speed, more seat time, more fun.
