The holidays can bring up a lot. Some of us are carrying grief. Some are facing transitions we didn’t ask for. Some are just plain tired.

And in the middle of it all, we still want to feel connected to something deeper. That’s why I created this Advent journal.

It’s called God With Us (Even Here) and it’s for the woman who wants to stay close to Jesus in a season that doesn’t always feel easy or joyful.

You don’t have to lose a loved one to experience grief.

Sometimes grief sounds like:
“I thought I’d be further along by now.”
“I miss the way things used to be.”
“This isn’t how the story was supposed to go.”

It can come from a breakup, a move, a job change, or just realizing life looks different than you imagined. You might not call it grief... but your body still feels the weight of what’s missing.

📝 When life feels heavy or I’m stuck in my own head, journaling is the thing that helps me breathe again.

There’s something powerful about getting your thoughts out of your brain and onto paper.
Simple, open-ended questions like these always help me notice what’s actually going on... not just what it feels like in the moment.

It doesn’t fix everything… but it helps me see more clearly. To reframe what’s hard. To move forward with a little more peace.

Grief doesn’t always look like heartbreak and tears. Sometimes, it’s quiet. Lingering. Hard to name.

It’s the in-between space... when the loss isn’t fresh, but it still aches.
When you’re showing up, doing the things… but it still feels off.

That’s why I started Lovely Letter Co. Because grief isn't one thing and whatever you’re carrying deserves care.

I didn’t plan to share this story.

But recently, I’ve found myself coming back to a quiet prayer that first met me in the middle of deep grief: “Steady my heart. Ground my soul.”

I wrote a short post about how those words came to be and why they still matter to me now.
At the end, I included a few reflection questions to help you slow down and begin naming the prayer you might not have words for yet.

I used to think grief only happened when someone passed away.
But I’ve learned that grief shows up in other ways too.

It can be a broken friendship.
A dream that didn’t happen.
Or life just not turning out how you thought it would.

Sometimes we don’t even realize we’re grieving. We just feel heavy and stuck... and we don’t know why.

But once we name it, something shifts.
It’s like we finally understand what our heart has been carrying.

I started Lovely Letter Co because I know what it feels like to go through something hard and not know what to say—or how to help someone else who’s hurting.

After my own experience with grief, I realized how much words matter. Sometimes the cards people send just don’t land. Sometimes silence feels worse. And sometimes, we just need to know we’re not alone.

So I started writing and creating. And little by little, The Lovely Letter Co was born.

This brand isn’t just about pretty cards or products. It’s about giving people the right words at the right time. It’s about helping you show up for someone—even when it’s awkward or messy. It’s about creating simple tools that bring encouragement and hope, one small moment at a time.

With the holidays coming, I’ve been thinking a lot about how hard this time can be. And I want to be a place that reminds you: you’re not alone. Whether it’s a blog post, a card, or something to hold onto in a quiet moment—I’m creating with you in mind.

This was one of the first pieces of art I ever made in 2021.

Back then, I was walking through deep grief. I didn’t know what to say or how to fix it, so I made something simple that helped me hold on to hope.

I didn’t expect to need these same words again this week. But after a hard few days, I found myself whispering them again.
