The Acoustic Escape was founded in Akron, Ohio and now streams from its new home in Portland, Oregon. But we haven’t forgotten our roots—we’re proud to keep shining a spotlight on the incredible music coming out of Northeast Ohio. You’ll hear a lot of it on this station.

One standout act from Akron is The Shootouts, fronted by lead vocalist/guitarist Ryan Humbert, guitarist Brian Poston, and vocalist/guitarist Emily Bates. Blending honky-tonk, classic country, and roots rock, The Shootouts have carved out a sound that’s pure Rust Belt Americana.

Over the past decade, they’ve evolved from local favorites into national performers—earning the honor of playing the Grand Ole Opry an impressive eight times. Most recently, they delivered a memorable cover of Pure Prairie League’s 1980s hit I’ll Be Damned, featured on their fourth album, Switchback. Even better? They performed it live with the song’s writer and country legend Vince Gill.
