Logline: “A teenaged Julia isolates in her room amidst an ongoing mental health decline, but solace is fleeting as peculiar conditions threaten her chance of finding her way out again.”

Location: Cleveland, TN
Shooting Dates: March 16th-17th, 2024
Compensation: Meals provided. $75 a day (Little Girl), $100 flat rate - 1 day (Angela Morten)

Angela Morten (45-59) - Female, any ethnicity. Supporting. Mom to Julia (Lead). Military wife/mom. Living alone with her daughter while her husband is deployed. Experiences chronic neck pain. Anxious and tentative, especially as she attempts to be close with her teenage daughter who is experiencing depression. Loving, gentle, and often worried

Little Girl (6-11) - Female, any ethnicity. Supporting lead. Timid and shy. Loves stuffed animals. Has a desire to go outside and explore but is not allowed to. She is confined to a bedroom with a teenaged Julia, who prevents her from escaping. Little Girl fears Julia but secretly tries to escape the room.

!!! Disclaimer: These two roles will be casted based off performance and physical attributes that resemble “Julia Morten” in various ways. We have not decided on an actor for Julia yet, but please feel free to audition anyway if you’re interested! We are willing to make exceptions. Performance > matching physical attributes (most of the time).

Julia Morten (18-21) - Female, any ethnicity. A hard-working High School senior trying not to break under the pressure of school, college prep, relationships, and finances. Military kid, living with Mom, Dad is deployed. Introverted and melancholy, as well as clinically anxious and depressed. Dating Leo, her High School friend and classmate.

Leo Chiaro (18-21) - Male, any ethnicity. High School senior. Boyfriend of Julia (Lead). Kind, friendly, and down to earth. Approaches life with optimism cultivated through hardship, not naivety. Navigating a dating relationship with someone experiencing anxiety and depression. Embodies hopefulness and comfort.

Also!! The following roles will be announced later and will be based on the performances and appearances of the talent cast for “Julia Morten”: Angela Morten (Julia’s mother, 50-59), Little Girl (9-14).
