SCATTERED REMNANTS’ LEGENDARY INHERENT PERVERSION EP FINALLY ARRIVES ON DIGITAL STREAMING PLATFORMS!!!

Emerging from the Massachusetts underground in the early 1990s, Scattered Remnants carved out a reputation through sheer brutality, crafting a sound rooted in primitive violence, grotesque atmosphere, and the raw extremity that defined the era’s deepest tape-trading circles.

Originally unleashed in 1995, Inherent Perversion is the release that cemented Scattered Remnants’ place among underground death metal’s most revered cult acts. Originally issued in limited quantities through Vaginal Vomit Productions and never repressed, the EP spent decades circulating among tape traders, collectors, and devoted fans, gradually earning a reputation as one of the most overlooked yet devastating brutal death metal releases of the era.

While many bands of the mid-‘90s pursued technicality or cleaner production, Scattered Remnants embraced pure violence. Primitive, groove-laden, and utterly oppressive, Inherent Perversion fused cavernous riffs, suffocating atmosphere, and relentless brutality into a sound that was years ahead of its time. Long before brutal death metal fully established itself, Scattered Remnants had already delivered a blueprint that continues to resonate with fans of the genre’s darkest corners.

Now, nearly three decades later, Inherent Perversion finally receives the restoration it has long deserved. Expertly remastered by Peter Rutcho (Revocation, Danny Elfman), these recordings retain every ounce of their original filth and aggression while revealing new depth and clarity throughout.

UK death metal force The Bleeding return with Altar of the Ram, the first single from their forthcoming album, Godless Communion, and a devastating introduction to the band’s new era.

Following the departure of longtime vocalist Germ, The Bleeding have recruited renowned UK death metal vocalist Craig Land, best known for his work with De Profundis, to take over frontman duties. While Godless Communion serves as a bridge between the band’s past and future, Altar of the Ram stands as the first true glimpse into what this new incarnation of The Bleeding has to offer.

Speaking on joining the band, Craig Land comments:
“When Tasos approached me about joining The Bleeding, and having spoken to him about his vision for the band, I jumped at the opportunity. The new album, Godless Communion, is totally killer, and I was thrilled to be asked to re-record the vocals so that I could be a part of it and be integrated into The Bleeding so quickly. It has been a whirlwind so far, and working with people so passionate and committed to the music and lifestyle has rekindled my own enthusiasm for playing again. I can’t wait to help take The Bleeding to the next level, both musically and on stage. Prepare to die!”

The origins of Altar of the Ram stretch back several years, evolving into one of the album’s most distinctive tracks. Guitarist and founding member Tasos explains

“The first demo of Altar of the Ram was ready in early 2020. It didn’t quite fit Monokrator, so we kept working on it. It stands out in the sense that there’s a clear speed metal influence as well as early death and black metal. In the final album version there are three vocalists featured, Craig, myself and Germ, and lyrically the song is about maggots, blood, and goat-headed worship as the faithful gather to unleash Hell on Earth.”

The single is taken from Godless Communion, the band’s most ambitious and significant release to date.

For the first time ever, all of Scattered Remnants ’s recordings are united in one definitive archival release, collecting the band’s legendary 1994 demo Procreating Mass Carnage, their long-revered 1995 EP Inherent Perversion, and their 1998 full-length Destined to Fail, alongside a selection of exclusive extras!

Emerging from the Massachusetts underground during death metal’s most formative era, Scattered Remnants built their reputation through sheer brutality, crafting a sound rooted in primitive aggression, grotesque atmosphere, and relentlessly punishing grooves. Though the band remained largely underground during their original existence, their recordings gradually developed cult status among tape traders, collectors, and devotees of early brutal death metal. Remarkably, none of these releases have ever been pressed on vinyl—until now.

For this archival campaign, all three releases have been expertly remastered by Peter Rutcho (Revocation, Danny Elfman), bringing new clarity and power to these underground classics while preserving the raw intensity that made them so revered in the first place.

The campaign also marks the first time the band’s catalog has been made widely available in the digital era. Procreating Mass Carnage is available now on streaming services, with Inherent Perversion arriving in late June and Destined to Fail following in late July.

Now restored as part of a complete archival campaign celebrating the recorded works of Scattered Remnants, this limited-edition box set finally gives these historic recordings the definitive presentation they have long deserved.

Originally released in 1994, Procreating Mass Carnage stands as an early document of their descent into uncompromising death metal savagery. Long circulated among collectors and underground diehards, the demo has developed a cult reputation over the decades for its filthy production, suffocating riffs, and relentlessly bludgeoning approach. There is no polish here — only raw aggression, cavernous heaviness, and the sound of a band pushing deeper into darkness before the modern brutal death metal movement had fully taken shape.

Tracks like “Profanation of Christ” showcase the band’s ability to combine oppressive atmosphere with punishing riffs and grotesque pacing, capturing the unhinged spirit of underground American death metal during one of its most formative eras.
