These are the heroes who rescued a newborn from a dumpster in Austin, TX, Saturday afternoon. Lerrssy Frausto and Perry Lewis.

Lerrssy helped retrieve the baby and began chest compressions before first responders arrived. “The way that she was found upside down in the trash broke me,” Frausto said. “I just kept praying for her to stay with me.”

Perry said his neighbor first suspected the sound might be a baby. When he checked, he saw a newborn girl covered in trash and dirt, with her umbilical cord still attached.
