You would be so surprised watching a film especially a massive-box office hit such a Star Wars film- or really anything from Mr. Lucas without the edited sound effects. They make such major, almost unbelievable improvements to which the credit is often placed to big companies rather than the gifted audio engineers themselves.

People in the industry vaguely understand the job of an editor, cinematographer or production designer. But even sophisticated showbiz veterans are flummoxed by the work of sound people. It’s ironi…

I had the privilege of sitting in on pop-punk band Deering this past weekend, recording their second EP. I am just appalled at their efficiency and studio environment. Great guys all around with loads of musical talent. Keep an eye on this Cleveland-based band as they have much success running their way!

That is one thing I have noticed in this degree program and the audio field in general, is significantly less women. Music production can be for anyone who loves music and sound! Go WAM!Who agrees?
