I received the sweetest Thank You note this weekend from Kim and David Westrope, who invited me to be their DJ for their wedding reception back on July 12.

What some people don’t understand about being a successful DJ at a party is that the folks there have also got to WANT to have fun and dance. And this crew rocked it! The more fun they had, the more I enjoyed it, and the music just kept flowing! It was the kind of party you wish every party could be.

So I thank YOU also for having me and trusting me with the music. It makes a girl very happy! 😁 Wishing you many years of love and happiness! ❤️ God bless!

Oh wow! I remember this show so well. We moved to Jackson in early 1986 in radio. Jim was doing mornings at the all new Z106.7, the Z Morning Zoo with Keith Hill. I was at Q99 in the quarter on Lakeland Drive. Our program director was Miami Vice crazy! Seems like one of the stations even did a big Miami Vice Night at a big, popular dance club somewhere up I-55 way. Everybody dressed in their Miami Vice best. Good times! Don Johnson is still on TV….as the captain of a big cruise ship on Doctor Odyssey. Now you know more stuff you did not need to know in the first place. 🤭

Just a reminder! I am back in the DJ party business! Yes, I am over 70. Yes, I am considered ancient by some of you young whipper snappers! But….I was raised during some of the best years of music that ever existed! I raised two children during the next two decades of music. I was on-air in radio beginning in 1978, ending in 2002. I DJ’ed at events from 1996-2018. Other than regular parties, I have played for Hawaiian luaus, Womanless Beauty Pageants, Outdoor Crawfish Boils, Relay for Life, and more. I even played for brides to walk down the aisle and get married, then played for their reception. I still listen and keep up with current music as much as possible. I play a mixture of THE BEST dance music from every era unless you ask for specific years! And I take requests on the spot. I BLEED MUSIC.

When it comes to music, I AM NOT AN OLD LADY! So, do not be fooled and think that younger, “hipper” folks can outplay me, because they can’t! 🤭😉
