Down by the Cuyahoga (WRUW-FM/91.1 Cleveland)

Down by the Cuyahoga (WRUW-FM/91.1 Cleveland) The show started in the fall of 1974, and has been on WRUW's schedule ever since. It may be the longest continuously-running jazz show in the nation!

Jim Szabo is the host. Jim started on WRUW in 1973 as an undergraduate of Case Western Reserve University (CWRU), where WRUW resides. Down by the Cuyahoga focusses on new jazz releases, especially those of Northeast Ohio musicians. He mixes in theme shows and interviews. You can listen to Down by the Cuyahoga Fridays at 11PM EST/EDT on 91.1 FM in Northeast Ohio or Northwest Pennsylvania, or WRUW's

live stream at http://www.wruw.org/listen/listen_pop.php. WRUW programming is also archived for one week, so if you miss Down by the Cuyahoga's live broadcast, you can download the podcast at http://www.wruw.org/guide/index.php?form_submit=1&g=17&d=5. This latter URL is also where you can find archived playlists of old shows. In fall of 2012, Jim revived a second weekly jazz show called "It Just Happens".
