Due to the extreme cold forecast for tomorrow, our Veterans Day Celebration scheduled for Tuesday, November 11 is moving to Friday, November 14 at 9:00 a.m.
Important: This is not a decision about school operations—no decisions have been made regarding school at this time.�We’re rescheduling to ensure our honored veterans don’t have to brave the frigid temps.

American Legion Roy Head Post 16 Veterans Day observance scheduled for 11 a.m. today in Cleveland's Freedom Park has been cancelled because of the inclement winter weather.

Early release for White County Schools today.

After consulting with the National Weather Service and with input from the White County Emergency Management Agency, White County Schools will dismiss at 1:30 p.m. today due to a winter weather advisory and the possibility of dangerous driving conditions.

Freeze Warning and Hard Freeze Watch in Effect

The National Weather Service has issued a Freeze Warning from 1 AM to 10 AM Monday and a Freeze Watch from Monday evening through Tuesday morning.

Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 20 to 28 degrees are expected across much of North Georgia, with even colder temperatures possible in higher elevations.

What to Know:

• Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops and other sensitive vegetation.

• Unprotected outdoor pipes may freeze and burst.

What to Do:

• Bring plants and pets inside.

• Wrap or drain outdoor pipes, or allow them to drip slowly overnight.

• Disconnect garden hoses and cover outdoor faucets.

A widespread hard freeze is expected by Tuesday morning. Take precautions now to protect people, pets, plants, and pipes.
