“Where did the money even go?” For a long time, that question kept me quiet.
So here’s the honest answer. Most of my debt didn’t go anywhere glamorous, it went into my website, my marketing, my education and licenses, and the endless rounds of new clothes that come with losing almost 200 pounds. It built the business and the body I have now.
And some of it? Masterminds and coaching I couldn’t tie to a real return, "investing in myself” that was really just a swipe I didn’t want to question. I own that part too.
Here’s what I know now, as someone who underwrites loans for a living and still got caught: debt that builds a skill or income is an investment. Debt that funds a feeling is a warning sign. Most of us don’t learn the difference until the statement arrives.
So this is the plan I’m running now, out loud:
1️⃣ Pay it off , no new debt, eyes open.
2️⃣ Save the down payment, boring on purpose.
3️⃣ Buy my first rental, DSCR loan, in an LLC. Brick one.
If you’re in your own messy middle, come build with me 🤍
Keep glowing. Keep growing. You’ve got this.
