Cleveland Yearbook

Cleveland Yearbook The Cleveland Yearbook is a community news project telling stories from people across Cleveland in a year of change.

To participate, text "Cleveland" to 662-580-4018. The Cleveland Yearbook is a community-powered news project that seeks to capture a snapshot of Cleveland in a year of change. In 2017, The Delta Arts Alliance and Reveal, a nonprofit newsroom, are setting up photo booths throughout the city where residents can get a free copy of their portrait and share their perspectives on Cleveland. Through phot

os and interviews with people across the city, we want to create an actual "yearbook" for Cleveland with the people who call it home. Follow our page here to stay-up-to-date on the Cleveland Yearbook and how you can participate. You can also text the word "yearbook" to 662-580-4018 and we'll send you occasional text messages to stay in touch. To request your own free portrait or to get the photo booth at your event or location, email us at [email protected].

The Sea Level Oyster House officially opened on October 1st. It was started with the intention of creating a high class dining area in the downtown area of Cleveland. The owners wanted to introduce a clean, fairly priced, sit down place where families could go for a nice dinner. It also doubles as a wonderful date night spot. There is also a bar and stage in the back half of the restaurant. On Saturdays and Sundays they host brunches with bottomless mimosas and bloody Mary’s. All in all The Oyster House is an amazing addition to the Cleveland cuisine. Please go down town and check them out this holiday season! We’ll see you next week with another Spotlight Sunday!

PJ Davis is a senior at Cleveland Central High School. He is involved in football, cross country, and powerlifting - as well as being the student body president. His desires to hold this position stemmed from what he had seen from the student council during the first year of the consolidation, and the things he knew he could help make better.

When asked what he wanted the rest of the world to know about his school he simply answered “It’s not as bad as everyone says...we aren’t fighting...we’re all just here hanging out just like any other kids.” He went on to say that CCHS is a school just like any other regardless of it’s past and is a school that is breeding leaders.

The current President of Interact is Ava Lubin along with the Vice President Kimberly Kinget and and Secretary Maci Sullivan. Interact focuses on service projects to help the community rather than the high school. Most recently, the club assisted alongside Rotarians at the annual Pancake Breakfast. Interact will do various projects throughout the year, such as volunteering at nursing homes, and reading at elementary schools. Their goal is to get teenagers involved in their community and with the hope that they will take the initiative to do so independently later in life. Interact Club breeds strong community members, and is a wonderful outlet for CCHS students.
