The muted tones of an overcast fall day bring out the true magic of the season. The crunch of leaves beneath my boots, the crisp air carrying hints of rain, and the soft gray sky create a mood that’s equal parts introspective and inspiring. Each step feels like a frame in a story, with golden and burnt-orange leaves clinging to branches, holding onto autumn’s fleeting beauty. As the trail winds closer to the lake, the sound of distant waves blends seamlessly with the quiet. Finally, the view of Lake Erie comes into focus—a calm expanse of water mirroring the gray sky, framed by the earthy hues of the season. Built in the 1890s by Feargus Squire as a gatekeeper’s house, this Cleveland treasure whispers stories of its Gilded Age origins.
