WOVU Launches New Streaming Audio Station “WOVU Plus” on iHeartRadio

New Channel Brings Back the Hits from the ’70s, ’80s and ’90s — Cleveland’s Classic R&B

CLEVELAND, OH — WOVU 95.9 FM, Cleveland’s Urban Alternative, is proud to announce the launch of WOVU Plus, a new 24/7 streaming audio station available on iHeartRadio. With a format dedicated to the greatest old school R&B from the ’70s, ’80s and ’90s, WOVU Plus expands the station’s digital footprint and offers listeners even more of the timeless music they love.

This new addition to the WOVU family complements the main WOVU 95.9 FM broadcast, which is also distributed on iHeartRadio and continues to serve as a vital community voice and cultural hub for Cleveland. WOVU Plus carries the station’s new signature tagline — Cleveland’s Classic R&B — with wall-to-wall classic R&B and soul, transporting listeners to the golden era of rhythm and groove.

In addition to curated old school programming, WOVU Plus will feature special airings of classic mixes from legendary Cleveland DJ and WOVU original Rockville, celebrating his iconic contributions to the city’s music scene. The stream will also include re-airings of “Classic Jamz with Action Jackson,” the Friday afternoon favorite hosted by Don “Action” Jackson, the beloved personality known for his encyclopedic knowledge of R&B and his decades-long connection with Northeast Ohio audiences.
