Closures Planned for Dry Fork Road Bridge Over I-74 in Ohio
Preliminary work to begin this week
Hamilton County, Ohio — Preliminary work is scheduled to begin this week on a bridge rehabilitation project on Dry Fork Road over Interstate 74 in the City of Harrison.
Throughout the 2026 construction season, contractors working on behalf of the City of Harrison and the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) will widen the bridge over I-74 to accommodate new turn lanes at the interstate on-ramps, construct a sidewalk along the bridge, widen the westbound I-74 off-ramp, and replace the traffic signals at the ramp intersections.
Site preparation is set to begin Wednesday, February 18, and will include clearing and grubbing operations along the I-74 eastbound and westbound exit ramps at Dry Fork Road. Crews will work as weather conditions permit. Traffic on I-74, the exit ramps, and Dry Fork Road will be maintained during these initial operations.
However, Dry Fork Road will be closed for extended periods during later phases of the project. Motorists will be detoured via Harrison Avenue and West Road. Interstate ramps may also be closed periodically during construction, though these closures will not occur simultaneously. Specific closure dates and schedules have not yet been announced.
The project is expected to be completed in November 2026.
