Day 4 - THE GIGS
Live performances have been The Champs bread & butter since their very first show at Crossroads back in 2007. Since that fateful first night, the band has played hundreds of shows at venues big and small across the Tri-State area with nationally touring bands and local peers alike.
No matter the venue, no matter the obstacles, no matter the set length, the Champs are always prepared to bring their blend of energy and top-notch musicianship to any live setting. If you’ve experienced it for yourself, you know what we’re talking about.
Perhaps you first came across the Champs at one of their many regular haunts such as Tierney’s Tavern, Bernie’s Hillside Lounge, or Jamian’s Food and Drink. Or maybe you were lucky enough to catch them gracing the stage at the Wellmont Theatre, Yogi Berra Stadium, Bowery Poetry Club, Maxwell’s Tavern, White Eagle Hall, Crash Mansion, or Asbury Lanes.
On some of those very stages, you may have been fortunate enough to see the Champs rise to the occasion alongside some heavy hitters such as WAR, The Slackers, The Smithereens, The World/Inferno Friendship Society, The Aggrolites, Russel Batiste Jr., The Pietasters, Mephiskapheles, or even as members of the acclaimed annual The Last Waltz recreation.
Maybe you sang yourself hoarse at one of their legendary Halloween Shows, where the Champs have tackled cover sets such as 80’s night, Sly & the Family Stone, KC & the Sunshine Band, and Quentin Tarantino Soundtrack tunes. It’s some of the most fun you’ll have with your clothes on.
Don’t fret - if you haven’t seen them live yet, it’s not too late. Grab your tickets for the VICTORY LAP LAUNCH PARTY, lace up your dancing shoes, and get ready for a night that is not to be missed. We’ll see you there!
Come back tomorrow to learn more about some of the interesting places you may have heard a Champs song pop up. 🤯
