🐃 BUFFALO BISONS ENTER THE STRETCH RUN WITH PLAYOFF HOPES ALIVE

Rise Up Family Sports | Buffalo Bisons Baseball

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The calendar is about to turn to September, and for the Buffalo Bisons, every game is getting bigger.

With just 18 games remaining, Buffalo enters the final stretch of the 2026 season still battling in the International League second-half race.

The road won't be easy. Several clubs remain ahead of Buffalo, meaning the Bisons will need a strong September — and potentially some help elsewhere in the standings — to make their postseason push a reality.

But there's one major reason for optimism:

Buffalo still has an opportunity to influence the race itself.

THE FINAL 18

The Bisons have three six-game series remaining:

Sept. 1–6: Worcester at Buffalo
Sept. 8–13: Buffalo at Charlotte
Sept. 15–20: Rochester at Buffalo

That final six-game showdown with Rochester at Sahlen Field could become one of the biggest series of Buffalo's entire season.

If the Bisons can stay within striking distance during the next 12 games, they could enter the final week with an opportunity to make up significant ground head-to-head.

WHAT DOES BUFFALO NEED?

Rise Up Family Sports sees 13–5 over the final 18 games as a strong target.

A 12–6 finish could keep Buffalo in the conversation, although they would likely need some help from other results around the International League.

A 13–5 or 14–4 run could make things extremely interesting.

And if Buffalo catches fire and goes 15–3?

Look out.

September baseball can change quickly, and a team that gets hot at exactly the right time can turn a difficult situation into a legitimate postseason race.

THE MESSAGE IS SIMPLE: KEEP WINNING

Buffalo can't control everything happening elsewhere in the league.

They can control what happens on the field.

Win series. Avoid losing streaks. Take care of Worcester. Have a strong road trip in Charlotte. Then come home ready for Rochester.

Live from the Music Dreams USA Radio Worldwide Studios......

🎙️🦈 A BROADCASTING LEGEND — THANK YOU, MARK “THE SHARK” RICHARDS 🦈🎙️

There are people who work in broadcasting.

There are people who make a name for themselves in broadcasting.

And then there are those rare people who spend their careers opening doors, teaching others, creating memories, and leaving the industry better than they found it.

Mark “The Shark” Richards is one of those people.

As Mark begins his semi-retirement from broadcasting, all of us at Music Dreams USA Radio Worldwide want to recognize a man whose impact reaches far beyond a microphone, a studio, or a radio signal.

Mark has had an amazing career. He has entertained audiences, shared his talent, helped other broadcasters find their way, and given people opportunities when they needed someone to believe in them.

And he did it because that's the kind of person Mark is.

From KISS 98.5, to WEBR Radio, to Music Dreams USA Radio Worldwide, and through shows like Builders Swing, there are stories, laughs, friendships and memories that could probably fill a book.

And here's one of them.

Years ago at KISS 98.5, Russell K. was Mark's intern.

One day, Mark was sitting behind the microphone and announced on the air:

“Man, I'm starving!”

Well, somebody was listening!

A local donut shop called the station, and before Russell knew what was happening, Mark had given his intern one of the most important assignments of his young broadcasting career:

GO GET THE DONUTS! 😂🍩☕

Russell headed out and came back to the station carrying boxes of donuts, coffee and all the goodies.

It was hilarious.

It was spontaneous.

It was radio.

And decades later, it's still one of those memories that brings a smile.

But what Mark gave people went far beyond donuts, laughs and great radio stories.

Mark helped people.

He taught people.

He encouraged people.

He shared what he knew.

He gave people opportunities.

He helped people become better broadcasters and better professionals.

And sometimes he probably never realized just how much those moments meant to the people around him.

His fingerprints are forever a part of Music Dreams USA Radio Wo
