Update from Clovis Police Department:

On Friday, November 21, 2025, at about 10:06 p.m., Clovis Police Department Dispatch received a 911 call regarding a gunshot victim. The caller told Dispatch there was a male subject with a gunshot wound, in their yard. Clovis Police, Fire, and Emergency Medical Services were dispatched to the scene, where they located a male gunshot victim. The victim, identified as Raynaldo Joshua Enriquez (37 years of age), was transported to Plains Regional Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries at approximately 11:08 p.m.
Search warrants were executed on the residence to recover the shotgun involved in this incident. No weapons were recovered from the home. Video surveillance in the area showed a subject walking from the scene shortly after the shooting. Investigators believe the weapon may have been taken by that subject.
The Clovis Police Department Special Operations Unit is looking for the public’s assistance in locating Richard Gonzales (39 years of age) in reference to this investigation.

From Clovis Police Department:

Clovis, NM – November 22, 2025 – On Friday, November 21, 2025, at about 10:06 p.m., Clovis Police Department Dispatch received a 911 call regarding a gunshot victim. The caller told Dispatch there was a male subject with a gunshot wound, in their yard. Clovis Police, Fire, and Emergency Medical Services were dispatched to the scene, where they located a male gunshot victim. The victim, identified as Raynaldo Joshua Enriquez (37 years of age), was transported to Plains Regional Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries at approximately 11:08 p.m.
The Major Crimes Unit was activated to investigate this shooting.
Information was developed through interviews which corroborated that Raynaldo Joshua Enriquez, was in possession of a shotgun. After inadvertently shooting himself, Enriquez directed the witnesses to recover his firearm. Enriquez was prohibited from possessing a firearm due to a felony conviction.
A search warrant was executed on the residence where the shooting occurred, no firearm was recovered. Video surveillance in the area showed a subject walking from the scene shortly after the shooting. Investigators believe the weapon may have been taken by that subject.
Detectives of the Clovis Police Department will proceed with this investigation and the recovery of the shotgun.
