My story:
For those who are new here, I would like to introduce myself. Hi, Im Brandon. I grew up in Marysville and my love for music started when I was young. My dad taught me how to play the guitar when I was 11. Music was my form of escape after my parents got divorced. I remember hanging out with one of my best friend at his house and we came up with the name Mars, because I liked singing and Bruno Mars at the time. That’s how I got the name “Brandon Mars.”
When I was 18, I joined the U.S. Army and served one deployment overseas. Even though I loved music I couldn’t do it full time because it didn’t pay the bills. I moved away from home after my deployment and had to find ways to support myself. I worked a lot of extra jobs like WalMart, Ross, Panda Express and more to get to where I am today. Right now I work as a correctional officer and am married to the love of my life. When I’m not doing music I like to spend time with my beautiful wife, play golf with my friends and work towards my education goals.
Through this passion of mine, I got the chance to perform at talent shows, competitions, concerts, and Hmong events. Over the years I met and collaborated with a lot of Hmong music artists while doing music on and off. After many set backs, my first EP “Tshuav Koj Daim Duab” was finally released in 2021. I’m currently working on some new projects.
I want to thank anyone who has shown me and my music support over the years. Follow me if you want to see more of my life and what I do. I offer free mentorship to aspiring music artists because I know how hard it is to pursue this passion when you start from nothing. Or if you ever just want to jam just hit me up!
