The Clyde Lions Club donated a new color television set to Park Villa Nursing Home when it opened in March of 1975. Here Lions Club secretary-treasurer Ralph Hardin (left) presents a check to pay for the television to Lloyd Hamel (right) owner of the Gambles store in Clyde.
While that television is long gone, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Park Villa, United Bank and Trust donated a brand new 75-inch television to the nursing home last week. Bike Across Kansas is Coming through our community.

Mark your calendars and come downtown on June 13, Thursday morning. We invite community to come downtown and greet the bike riders as they make their way through Clyde. Reflections Park will be a stopping point for bike riders to grab a water and a piece of fruit, we need volunteers to help us hand out and welcome them and we invite you to just cop a seat anywhere downtown and watch and wave as they bike through the community, so many ways to show off our support and pride for our community. We can plan to start seeing biker riders arriving around 6:30am. to 10am. They are leaving from Concordia and making their way to Frankfort for the day. It truly is fun to see so many participants in this event and the impact they make as they ride along the trail through Kansas. We would love to see you on June 13 downtown to watch and welcome the bike riders.
