Heaven gained a beautiful soul. RIP Jim Chaikong (Jimmy Ninja). I only got the chance to really witness and understand the type of person he was recently. He was a truly unique human that I could immediatly tell lived his life with passion and to the fullest. Once you experienced his energy it either infected you or inspired you. We had spoken the Thursday before the world lost him and he seemed to be at complete peace with himself and the world around him. He encouraged me to stay strong spiritually and have trust in the people around me that allowed me to feel like myself.
You may be gone from this Earth but your memory will live on in all of the peoples hearts you have touched over the years, including mine.

After 10+ years of touring and several experiences in different recording studios; we decided that the time had to come put in motion what we had been talking about for years...a high quality recording studio that gives you a zero pressure atmosphere. Notion Sound Studio provides just that. We wanted to address and fix something that has been broken in what seems to be trending in most recording studios these days. Those things are: Time, pressure & vibe factor.
Time
When we think back on our experiences and talk with other musicians, the same topic always comes up. We always find ourselves checking the time while in the studio. Why? Because time is money, and very few of us have a money tree. Here at Notion, we offer very reasonable pricing that won't find you constantly interrupting your creativity by checking your watch. Speaking of time, we work with the artist regarding their preferred time slots. We don't see any reason to record at 9:00am when the artist is accustomed to creating their art later in the day. However, if you're a morning person - we have coffee for that!
Pressure
We've all been there...Your entire band waiting on you as you try and fail miserably while attempting to record a difficult part of a song. Although we can't do anything about your chops, we can ensure that you won't feel rushed or demeaned while you take the extra time to nail the part. We have a lounge area where your band mates can relax, play video games, eat, drink beverages, or watch TV in the meantime. All of our staff is super chill and will make you feel right at home.
Vibe Factor
This very important (possibly most important) detail is almost ALWAYS overlooked in most recording studios. A musician creates art. This art is often captured during a heightened emotional state. We will do our very best to capture the emotion of the song as it was when it was originally written. We utilize our very relaxed environment, mood lighting & experienced producers to achieve this effect.
