We’ve pulled into a lot of campgrounds in 5 years and this was one of the best!

Sun Retreats Gun Lake is one of the ones we’re still talking about.

Massive sites.

A lake right on the property where you can rent canoes, paddleboats, and even see-through canoes.

A jumping pillow, pool, arcade, and gaga ball that kept our girls busy from morning until they couldn’t keep their eyes open.

And the location? Perfect.

Gun Lake is right there. Saugatuck and Douglas are just down the road, so visiting the Root Beer Barrel, the Chain Ferry, Oval Beach on Lake Michigan is easy!

You could spend a week here and not run out of things to do.

This is exactly the kind of stop that makes full-time travel worth it.

For years I just slept on whatever mattress came with the RV.

I told myself it was fine. There was always something else to prioritize first.

We finally upgraded our mattress and our oldest daughter’s too with the Signature Hybrid from RV Mattress by Brooklyn Bedding.

First morning I woke up I just laid there for a minute.

Because I actually felt rested.

Living in an RV full time definitely means owning less than living in a house…. However, it does NOT mean you need to be a minimalist….

Campground fees add up fast when you RV.

flips the whole thing. Instead of a standard site, we’re parked at a farm, a winery, a brewery…. somewhere with an actual experience attached to it. And we’re spending less doing it.

The girls wake up somewhere new and interesting every time. And the money we spend goes directly to a small business owner.

That’s the kind of travel we chose this life for.
