Be on Look out for this Scam

The synopsis:



A phone call from a person that identifies themselves as a Deputy or Sergeant Baker with the Harnett County Sheriff’s Office or just Sheriff’s Office.



The caller advises the target that a warrant for their arrest has been issued because they failed to appear for jury duty.



In order to settle the issue, the target is given an approved name and number of a bondsman to call to settle the case.



Target is told they will get money back when they appear before a judge. Total money requested to pay is about $750.00.

Homicide in Cameron

News Release

February 26, 2018



On February 26, 2018 at 12:24 pm, Deputies responded to Mallie Dr. Cameron, NC in reference to a homicide. Jason I. Spriggs (B/M, 35 YOA, of 70 Mallie Dr., Cameron) was shot and pronounced deceased near the scene of the shooting. The shooting occurred at 70 Mallie Dr. The shooter remained on scene. Domestic incident resulted in a shooting.



A search warrant has been executed at 70 Mallie Dr. Crime Scene and Criminal Investigators are currently processing the scene. One vehicle has been seized at this point.



At time of this release Brian Paul Massey (W/M, 29 YOA, of 6107 Twiggs Ct. Hope Mills, NC) has been charged with 1Ct. Second Degree Murder. Bond information is not available at this time.

School shooting threats at Harnett Central Middle.

2529 Harnett Central School Rd., Angier, NC



Yesterday at approximately 12:45 pm Harnett Central Middle School Officials notified the Sheriff’s Office of a threat of school violence.



Writing on a girls bathroom stall wall was discovered which read ‘school shooting Feb. 20’.



The incident is under investigation. At this time we do not know who made the writing or their intent.



Additional Deputies are assigned to the school today and will remain for the school day.



The Harnett County Sheriff’s Office takes any form of threat seriously and the Sheriff’s Office will continue to investigate any type of threat to our students and staff.



We appreciate students and parents contacting the Sheriff’s Office/School Officials with any information concerning any type of threat.

CSX Railroad has scheduled the attached list of crossings to be closed for repair. This will necessitate rerouting traffic. Signage will be in place marking detour routes. Please see we have added several crossing that will be closed. (refer to the yellow highlight)
