A tribute to my twin sister đ
She was my OG golf buddyâwe took our first golf lesson together, snuck out of high school to spend hours on the range together, competed in junior tournaments together, and played on the first-ever womenâs golf team at the University of VirginiaâŠtogether.
I moved up to NYC to start working at Golf Digest; she stayed at UVA for medical school (!) then moved to Rochester for residency in dermatology (!!) and then to Michigan for fellowship in Mohs Surgery (!!!). Then she had twin girls in Michigan and moved back to Rochester to raise them while practicing medicine, then had a boy. Needless to say, she and I havenât played much golf together over the last decade, but that changed recently since we both live in Nashville (!!!!) and she has settled into a more manageable routine.
Our weekend at Sand Valley reminded me of how lucky I am to have a bestie I admire as a professional, as a mother and as a badass-but-laid-back golf pal. We found the game âlateâ (we were 14) and nobody else in our family played. We never competed outside the state of Florida before competing at UVA. We werenât supposed to become golfers. We became addicted to the sport (thanks for pushing us, mom!) without truly understanding how much itâd eventually mean to us. Sheâs the best person I know (along with !), and Iâm just so glad sheâs my identical twin sister đ
Canât WAIT to share more laughs and golf experiences with this beautiful human.
Thank you for snapping these wonderful photos of her, !!
