The Fire and the Wood
Have you ever felt the urgency of Heaven pressing on your spirit—the kind that makes your heart race without knowing why? That’s what I felt this week as I prepared to write about Abraham’s obedience and God’s provision. But before I could begin, the Lord interrupted with a word for His people.
This post isn’t just another reflection; it’s a call to attention.
A reminder that the same God who provided a ram in the thicket is still speaking, still calling, and still refining His people by fire.
Take a moment to pray before reading—open your heart to hear what the Spirit is saying in this hour.

Some days, the fog isn’t outside—it’s inside.
The thoughts run wild, and before we know it, our hearts have drifted from the One calling our name.

Today’s post is my honest prayer through that fog.
Maybe it’s yours too. 🍂

When Alexa Calls My Phone...

This week, the Lord met me right in the middle of my morning chaos — laundry, dishes, and yes, the daily hunt for my missing cell phone. What started as a routine “Alexa, call my phone” moment turned into a powerful reminder of how often He’s calling… and how distracted I can be. 💔

If you’ve ever felt like you’re “lost” in the noise of your own day, this one’s for you. 💬

🕊️ He’s still calling — can you hear Him?

📚 Attention Teachers! 📚

November is the perfect month for a classroom visit from The First Grade Chatterbox! I have open availability and would love to visit your class for a fun, engaging read-aloud that helps little learners explore BIG feelings and the power of words.

This story isn’t just about one chatty first grader—it’s about learning when to speak, when to listen, and how to make things right when our words hurt others. ❤️

Interested? Message me here on FB or email me at [email protected] to schedule your November reading!

When an adult chatterbox can relate to a first grader’s conflicts, you just might be the author of The First Grade Chatterbox.

So many times, I say the wrong thing or say too much. Even as an adult, I’m still learning to tame my tongue. How much more do our precious children struggle with when to speak and when to stay quiet? Their BIG feelings often come out fast—and sometimes, those words can hurt.

The First Grade Chatterbox reminds us all that learning to regulate emotions and to be aware of what we say is a lifelong lesson. Through this story, children can see the power of apologizing, forgiving, and choosing kindness in their everyday words.

Some roots run deep — not in strength, but in pain.
When dysfunction becomes the water that feeds the family tree,
only the grace of God can bring life to what’s dying beneath the surface.

Today, I’m sharing a new poem, "Bitter Roots," and a reflection titled "Grace in the Barren Place."

It’s about restoration — the kind that only comes when God reaches into the soil of our hearts and heals what’s been hidden. 🌳✨https://agingenglishmajor.com/2025/11/05/grace-in-a-barren-place/

This week I have worked on a poem that I revised today and wanted to share it. At some point in my life experiences, I have looked over my life and my legacy to see places where I do not understand…

The Lord is calling His intercessors to rise.

On July 4th, I received a word about New York City — a vision that pressed deeply on my spirit. The Lord reminded me that even in times of shaking, His mercy still reaches out to those who call on His name.

This post is not about fear, but about prayer — about standing in the gap for the righteous, the Jewish people, and the Christians in NYC. Let us plead Psalm 91 together and ask God to remember mercy in the midst of judgment.

NEW BLOG POST

This year has been one of revelation, obedience, and awakening.
Since February, the Lord has been shifting me—teaching me to walk by faith, not sight. What began as quiet whispers in the secret place has become a shaking call to the Church. The Father is speaking to His children: Fortitude, Daughter... the shaking has begun.

I saw this last night and it really touched me. 🙏
Business has been slow lately, and honestly, we’ve been struggling to keep up. I’ve talked to several other small business owners here in Eastman and the surrounding towns, and they’re all saying the same thing - it’s make-or-break time for so many of us. 💔

We know it’s hard right now for everyone. There’s been so much uncertainty with the shutdown and everything going on, and we completely understand that. But even in the middle of it all, we’re trusting that God is still faithful and that He will continue to provide. 🌿

When you choose to shop small, you’re doing more than making a purchase - you’re helping families stay afloat, dreams stay alive, and ministries continue to shine God’s light in our community.

If our little shop has ever blessed you, would you help us spread the word? Pray for us, share a post, tell a friend, or stop by when you can. Every bit of support truly makes a difference. 💛

Let’s keep believing together - for revival, for community, and for God’s favor over every small business that’s fighting to stay open. 🙌
