Do you ever feel yourself running toward the thing that’s bad for you? Same.
That’s your old survival pattern talking. Not your highest self.
Action Steps:
1. Whisper: “This is an old version of me.”
2. Put your shoulders back — small posture, big shift.
3. Ask: “What would the healed version of me do?”
Your higher self is always available — you just have to check in.

Rebrand yourself
Matthew McConaughey told the inspiring story of knowing who he was and the gifts he could bring to the world. He knew he had a higher purpose and the skills and drive to expand from being a romantic comedy actor. Although he feared he was out of the game after 18 months with no calls, he hung on for a couple more months until the right script came along. He knew what he had to offer the world and he believed in himself.
What is your purpose? What else do you have inside of you? What do you want to show the world?

Stop Letting the Moment Choose For You
Let’s talk about that moment when you KNOW better… but you still do it.
You’re not broken. You’re just acting from the version of you who wants relief, not results.
Action Steps:
1. When the urge hits, put your hand on your heart.
2. Say: “I choose for me — not the moment.”
3. Then take one deep breath before you act.
You don’t need perfection. You just need one conscious breath.

Choose Your 3-Word Identity
You act like the person you believe you are.
Shift your identity, and your choices follow with ease.
Action Steps:
1. Pick three words you want to live by.
• “I am grounded.”
• “I am strong.”
• “I am disciplined.”
2. Say them before you make decisions.
3. Let those words guide your next action.

Practice Your “No” Before You Need It
A strong ‘no’ is easier to say when you’ve said it before.
You don’t build boundaries in the moment. You build them in practice.
Action Steps:
1. Think of the situation that pulls you in.
2. Practice a simple, confident “no” out loud.
3. Say it a few times a day until it feels natural.
When the moment comes, your boundaries will be solid.

Want to make better choices? Picture yourself tomorrow morning.

2. Imagine waking up proud of yourself.
3. Choose the action that matches that version of you.
Let tomorrow’s you guide today’s choices.

Your brain loves scripts. So give it better ones.
Habits are neural pathways. You replace them by giving your brain a new, clear sequence.
Action Steps:
1. Pick one impulse behavior you want to change.
2. Create a replacement: “If I feel X → then I do Y.”
• If I feel lonely → I go for a 3-minute walk.
• If I want sugar → I drink water first.
3. Repeat it daily so the pathway strengthens.
“Your brain doesn’t take orders. It takes patterns.”

1. Pay attention to your thoughts and actions that may bring up old patterns.
2. Ask yourself, “What is this trying to teach me?”
3. Be completely honest with yourself about your feelings and triggers.
4. Create a mantra, journal, exercise, or find a healthy way to bring yourself back to the present moment.
5. Keep going because you are rocking it!

When my husband & I moved to Cocoa Beach a little less than a year ago, I had no idea that not only was my address changing, but my entire life was about to catapult into something dreams were made of.
For the last 30 years, I have worked in the financial industry. It’s what I know, it pays the bills, and I am extremely grateful for the opportunities and lifestyle it affords me. However, I’ve always felt like something was missing. Passion.
When life’s path led us to Cocoa Beach, I was awestruck by the natural beauty surrounding me daily. There were moments, many of them actually, that I was moved to tears by the shear, glorious beauty of it all. We live here.
I couldn’t wait to share what I was witnessing with my friends & family back home in Virginia (and my 2nd home, Tampa, where we lived for 5 years before settling here.) I dug out my daughter’s old point-and-shoot Sony camera, and started clicking away. We live on the beach, so sunrises are a daily blessing. I began taking shots of the sunrise over the Atlantic each morning and it was a big hit with my crew on Facebook. Soon, I branched out into my new LOVE...Surf photography!
After a month or so of shooting with the old P/S (do you see what I did there?) I decided to go all in and buy myself the mac-daddy Christmas gift; the Nikon D7200. Oh man! I still do my little happy dance when I think of the first shots I took with that camera! This little gift to myself has turned into much more of a blessing than I could have ever imagined.
I live at one of the coolest breaks in Central Florida. It’s a daily event to see surfers paddling out at 16th Street South in South Cocoa Beach, so I didn’t have to go far to get in some practice shooting. I thought it would be a cool idea to take shots of the local surfers and post them on a site so they could have pics of themselves. It was also a way for me to give back to the community that had already given so much to me. So with that, The Beach at 16th Street was born on Facebook. It is so cool to see that site grow and community come together to share stories and pictures. And, my heart warms every time a surfer sees their pictures and says, “Oh man! That’s awesome! Thanks so much!”.
One morning, as I was watching, and shooting, an unusually golden sunrise, a man and his two daughters arrived for dawn patrol. The moment struck my heart with such emotion that I knew at that moment, I was meant for something greater. My purpose is to capture moments of beauty, and share stories of those who are also living their purpose.
