Kootenai County Sheriff's deputies arrested two people on drug possession and other charges early Monday.

According to the release, a KCSO deputy contacted occupants of a vehicle parked at a gas station in the 5200 block of W. Riverbend Avenue in Post Falls about 2 a.m. During the consensual contact, illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia were observed in plain view.

Damon Earin is a fifth-generation citizen of Coeur d’Alene, but a piece of his heart has always belonged to the Kansas City Chiefs.

As music filled the air at Coeur d’Alene City Park on Saturday, Maribel Martinez danced.
“It’s a way to celebrate community,” the Coeur d’Alene woman said during the North Idaho Pride Alliance’s Pride in the Park.

Rena Herndobler worked at a booth selling Pride banners and stickers. She said Pride in the Park grows each year, which she saw as a sign of increasing attitudes of acceptance in the region.

In the 10 years she spent as an optician, Sandra Weber helped people find the right glasses to fit their faces and assist with their eyesight.

Toward the end of her time at the job, pain in her thumb made the smallest movements painful, leading to her retirement.

“I couldn’t use my hands anymore to make glasses fit,” Weber said.
