The murder trial of Brian Walshe – the Cohasset man accused of killing his wife, Ana, in early 2023 – began today, Dec. 1, at Norfolk Superior Court in Dedham.

Prosecutors delivered an opening statement today at the beginning of the trial, followed by an opening statement by defense attorney Larry Tipton stating that evidence would show a “sudden, unexplained” death. “Brian Walshe never killed Ana,” he stated, according to published reports.

🎁 Walking into the brand-new Bamp's Toy Vault in downtown Plymouth feels just like stepping into the toy stores of childhood, full of wonder and pure magic. ✨

The most enchanting detail? The red and white hot air balloons floating from the ceiling. Each night they’re “sent back into the sky,” returning each morning with baskets full of toys to restock the shelves. 🎈🧸

This holiday season, Bamp’s is partnering with Toys for Tots, offering curated gift ideas from $5–$60 — plus 20% off donations (excluding Lego).

Kids can even create their own wish lists as they explore with mini carts. And we’ve got the manager’s top 5 gift picks if you need inspo!

:🎁 The SSRECC Holiday Toy Drive Is Back! 🎁
The South Shore Regional Emergency Communications Center is kicking off its 12th annual toy drive to help make the season brighter for children in Hingham, Cohasset, Hull, and Norwell. The drive runs from the Friday after Thanksgiving through Dec. 23.

Donate new, unwrapped toys for kids of all ages — or gift cards for teens, who are often the hardest to shop for. Collection boxes start empty every year, and our community always fills them with generosity.

This year, dispatchers are also selling a limited-edition holiday patch (minimum $10 donation) to help purchase gift cards for older kids. Last year, patch sales raised nearly $1,500 and helped fill 130 gift bags for local families.

🧸 Drop-off locations:
• Former Hingham Police Station lobby (212 Central St.)
• New Hingham Police Station lobby (35 Essington Drive)
• Cohasset Police Station lobby (62 Elm St.)
• Gift cards may also be brought directly to the dispatch center at Town Hall

🎄 You can also donate — and meet the dispatchers — at:
• Christmas in the Square – Dec. 5
• Cohasset Holiday Stroll – Dec. 13

🎶✨ A New South Shore Holiday Tradition Begins ✨🎶
The South Shore Conservatory is bringing big Boston Pops–style magic right to our community this season.

On Sunday, Dec. 14 at 3 PM, South Shore Conservatory and the Atlantic Symphony Orchestra team up for the South Shore Holiday Pops — a family-friendly concert filled with festive favorites like Sleigh Ride, Winter Wonderland, a holiday sing-along, and even a visit from the North Pole.

Artistic Director Steve Bass says the goal is simple: create a musical moment families can look forward to year after year — without the traffic, the cost, or the chaos of heading into the city.

📍 Scituate Performing Arts Center
🗓 Sunday, December 14 | 3 PM
