From the City of Colby

On Thursday, May 28, 2026 the Electric Department will have a scheduled power outage. The area affected by this outage is mainly the downtown and residential areas from College Dr North to as far as the ball fields on 10th St.

This outage is so the Electric department can do system upgrades and maintenance for the Power Plant Substation. This outage will start at 4 am and estimated completion is unknown. This is a scheduled outage and please do not contact Colby Communications (Dispatch) or City Hall to report this outage as these departments are already aware of the outage.

The Sunflower Standard Presents: KSHSAA 3A state golf tournament day 2.

Kaleb finished State Golf in 32nd place with a total score of 163, he broke 80 on day 2 and had several memorable moments!

Thanks to the coaches and athletes for your hospitality and inclusion, we had a blast following you guys around for two days. We want to wish the best to the three seniors Kaleb, Kade, and Ryker; and we can wait to see Kieran, Sean, and Cash next year!
