Kiwanis club-Thomas County/colby members toured the new hospital in Colby, KS today. Can’t wait to see what the new Citizens Medical Center will look like when it’s finished.

Wow another donation in the books. Rick, Shelia, and Kathy received another donation to the park from Farm Bank and Trust in the amount of $1000.00!!!!

🎉Can you believe it’s time for a Groundbreaking?!

In June of 2024, this partnership between the parents, Kiwanis Club-Thomas County/Colby, Rotary Club of Colby, KS, the City of Colby and the Thomas County Community Foundation kicked off its
fundraising efforts to make this park a reality, with a goal of roughly $500,000. Guided by Play 4 ALL Campaign, we have devoted our time to spreading awareness through parade participation, presenting to
local community organizations, taking over our local NWKS Radio station and social media campaigns, as well as hosting pancake feeds, food truck fundraisers, t-shirt sales and a grassroots {Push for the Park Community Campaign}, raising funds directly from the local business community. Our efforts and YOUR DONATIONS have been wildly successful and the project funding is near completion!! Although we are not quite fully funded, we have to start breaking ground and preparing the site for construction. Once funded the construction with Cunningham Recreation will begin in the Spring of 2025. The playground will feature a zip line, swings, inclusive whirl and more, all safely built with accessible
surfacing for people of all abilities to enjoy.

So we want to invite you to join us!! We will be hosting a Groundbreaking Ceremony on March 21, 2025 at 10:00AM at Villa High Park and all are invited to attend!! Wear your park shirts if you have them 💙💛 we hope to see you there!

It is not lost on us that this park holds a lot of memories and nostalgia for the community of Colby. And we look forward to all of the new memories that are going to be made starting in the near future!

We want to let you know that the current playground equipment is scheduled to be removed in the month of February. Take advantage of the nice days and have your final playtime on the current equipment.

As soon as we are fully funded, we will break ground this Spring and CANNOT WAIT to celebrate with you and this amazing new addition to the community. 🛝💛

The City has done research and had multiple conversations about what they could do with old equipment, unfortunately it is a liability to move to a different park or sell. Just like with most things in this condition, it’s just unsafe.

The Phoebe Harkins Memorial Christmas toy drive is officially done. Kiwanis club Thomas county colby bought 90 toys, three toys were donated, and this project impacted 48 families. Monday November 25th we went shopping at Walmart for all the toys, and last night we just finished wrapping them all. A huge shout out to to CCC Softball girls you are always awesome helping us with all our projects, and exspecially this one. Thank you to your Coach for having the CCC softball girls help every year !! This was the second year that we started at 5pm tonight and ended just after 6pm with wrapping, and organizing them into the families !! Also another amazing year of having the exact number of toys and not being short or long on anything !! What an amazing project that impacts so many kids !!

Christmas came early for the Park Project!!!

🎁Christmas came early for the Park🎁

The first round of playground equipment has officially arrived safely in Colby 👏🏼👏🏼

We are still working toward hitting our fundraising goal, but in order to take advantage of a matching discount from Cunningham Recreation we were able to secure part of the equipment early! This means as soon as we are fully funded we can break ground this Spring 🎉 How amazing is that?!

If you are able, please remember the playground in your holiday giving this year. Every little bit counts and we are so very very grateful for all of our volunteers and donors who have made this possible! THANK YOU 💛✨

Kindergarten staff and students are excited for our annual Character Pumpkin decorating coming up this week!
