Faith • Confidence • Life After Breast Cancer

Beauty, skincare, makeup, and real-life journeys of healing, growth, and becoming whole again.

🩷 My heart.

09/06/2026

🩷 Sometimes the thing you wish had never happened becomes the very place where you can see just how faithful God has been.

Last week, I received another wonderful report at my breast cancer checkup.

And I am so, so thankful.

Then this morning at church, our preacher said something that went straight to my heart:

“Scars are a sign of healing.”

I haven't been able to stop thinking about that.

Because I have scars.

Real ones.

Scars that remind me of hospital rooms and surgeries.
Scars that remind me of fear.
Scars that remind me of lying awake wondering what was going to happen next.
Scars from things I never asked for and certainly never would have chosen.

And if I'm being truthful, there have been times I wished those scars weren't there.

Times I've looked at my body and remembered what it used to look like.
Times I've wished I could erase the evidence of what cancer took from me.

But maybe I've been looking at them all wrong.

Because a scar means the wound isn't open anymore.

It means healing happened there.

That doesn't mean it didn't hurt.
It doesn't mean you didn't cry.
It doesn't mean you weren't scared.
And it certainly doesn't mean you would ever choose to walk through it again.

It just means that somehow, by the grace of God, you made it to the other side of something you once wondered if you could survive.

And that isn't just true of the scars we can see.

Some of the deepest scars I carry aren't on my body at all.

They're from saying goodbye to people I would give anything to hug one more time.

They're from prayers I prayed through tears.

They're from seasons when I didn't understand what God was doing.

They're from moments when life changed and there was no going back to the way things were before.

Maybe you have some of those scars too.

And here's what gets me...

When Jesus rose from the grave, He could have come back without a single mark.

But He still had the scars.

The pain was over.
The grave had been defeated.
But the scars remained.

And His scars didn't take away from the victory.

They testified to it.

Maybe ours do too.

Maybe the places we try so hard to hide are sometimes the very places that whisper...

God carried me here.

I was hurt here.
I was afraid here.
I cried here.
I questioned here.
I thought I might never be okay again here.

But God met me here, too.

So today, I'm looking at my scars a little differently.

They aren't beautiful because what caused them was beautiful.

They're beautiful because they remind me that the wound didn't get the final word.

God did. 🩷

And maybe that's what shining really looks like.

Not walking through life untouched.

But allowing His light to shine through every scar that says...

I have been wounded.
I have been held.
And I have been healed.

Happy Shine Sunday, friends. 🩷

💄 What if almost everything you needed for your makeup could fit in ONE palette?

That right there is what sold me on Seint in the first place… and honestly, it’s one of the biggest reasons I’m still here. 💗

Today is ALL SEINT, and I’m taking it back to the basics!

In this 13-minute video, I’m showing you exactly how the palette works and how your highlight, contour, blush, illuminator and more can all live together in one beautiful little compact.

I also show you some of the different brushes I use, why I reach for different ones, and then we put it all together for a full face from start to finish.

No digging through a makeup bag.
No bottles and tubes all over the counter.
Just simple, beautiful makeup that works together and makes getting ready so much easier.

If you’ve watched me use Seint and thought, “Okay, but how does that little palette actually work?” this video is for you. 🥰

And if you’ve been curious about trying it but have no idea which colors you need, I would be honored to color match you. That’s one of my favorite parts. 💕

Grab your coffee and come get ready with me!

One palette. One face. Beautifully simple. 💗

Sometimes you find yourself sitting right in the middle of the road, not knowing which way to turn.

So you turn to God.

And sometimes He tells you to move.

Sometimes He tells you to wait.

And sometimes you just sit right there for a little while, trusting that when it’s time to take the next step, He will show you the way.

Two years ago, I was just home from a double mastectomy. I was hurting. I was healing. And if I’m truthful, I didn’t feel very beautiful at all. I couldn't see then what God was going to do in me over the next two years.

But He could.

And little by little, He began changing the way I saw myself. He reminded me that my beauty was never found in what cancer took from me. My worth was never held in a body part, a number, a scar, or a reflection in the mirror.

It was always found in who He created me to be.

Monday, I went for my breast cancer checkup, and everything was wonderful. I am doing so well. And today my heart is simply overflowing with praise and gratitude to the One who has carried me every single step of this road.

Maybe that's what it means to rise and glow.

Not because life never knocked you down.

Not because you always knew which road to take.

But because somewhere along the way, you learned that you don't have to know where the road leads when you know the One who does.

So if God asks me to sit in the middle of the road for a while, I'll sit.

If He says wait, I'll wait.

And when He says move, I'll move.

Because more than anything, I want to be on His path, in His timing, for His purpose.

Two years later, she rises. She glows.

But not because of anything she has done.

Because of everything HE has done in her. 🙌

All praise. All glory. All honor belongs to Him.

Happy Worship Wednesday, friends! 🩷

You do NOT have to do all the things to look put together. ❤️

Some days, I love playing with makeup. Give me the contour, bronzer, multiple eyeshadows, all of it.

But some days? I just want simple.

So today I simplified EVERYTHING.

⭐ One main eyeshadow color with just a little something in the corner
⭐ No contour
⭐ No bronzer
⭐ Seint foundation using my main highlight + brightening highlight
⭐ BELLAME Mauve Delight for BOTH my cheeks and lips

That’s it.

And look at the difference. You can still have a beautiful, finished face without using a dozen products or doing every single makeup step you've ever been taught.

Makeup doesn't have to be complicated to make you feel pretty. Sometimes a few of the right products, in the right places, are more than enough.

So if you've ever watched a makeup tutorial and thought, “That's just too much for me,” this 6-minute video is for YOU.

Simplify it. Make it yours. And get on with your day feeling beautiful because you are. 🩷

Two years ago this past Friday, I walked into a hospital and had a double mastectomy.

August 21, 2024. A day I will never forget. 🩷

I didn't know then exactly what those next two years would hold. I didn't know all the healing, changing, growing, grieving and learning that was still ahead of me.

But God did.

And looking back today, I can see His hand in places I couldn't see it while I was walking through them.

This Shine Sunday is a little longer than usual, but it's from my heart. It's about cancer. It's about scars. It's about what happens when life changes you in ways you never asked for.

But mostly, it's about what God can do with a life that keeps saying yes to Him.

Maybe your scars don't look like mine. Maybe yours can't even be seen. But whatever you're walking through today, please don't believe for one second that your story is over.

God is still writing it.
God is still working.
And God is still holding you.

Two years later, I'm not the same woman I was when I walked into that hospital.

But I'm still here.
I'm still His.
I'm still shining. 🌟

And my scars don't tell the story of what defeated me.

They tell the story of the God who didn't let go. 🩷

Happy Shine Sunday, friends. 🩷

Lord, give me a purpose. Give me a song. ❤️

Grief has a way of making you feel lost sometimes. Over these last several months, I’ve had to learn how to navigate a life that looks very different from the one I knew before. And if I’m not careful, I can get lost down in the sadness of what I’ve lost.

But I don’t have to stay there.

Because my joy doesn’t come from my circumstances. My joy comes from the Lord.

If I woke up this morning, there is still purpose for me. There is still a plan. There is still something God wants to do in me and through me.

And I want to live like I believe that.

I want to thank Him for another day. I want to praise Him in the beautiful and in the hard. I want His joy to shine from the inside out so brightly that when someone sees the smile on my face and wonders how I can still have joy after everything I’ve walked through, I can point them straight to Jesus.

Because grief may be part of my story, but it doesn’t get to write the ending.

I’m still here. God is still good. And as long as I’ve got Jesus, I’ve got everything I need. ❤️

So, Lord, give me a purpose. Give me a song. And let my life sing it. 🙏🏻
