Wondering how you can help our neighbors in Central Texas and the Hill Country? Links to all of these organizations are in the comments below.

The Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country

The Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country has launched The Kerr County Flood Relief Fund, which it says will support both rescue and rebuilding efforts. The Kerr County Sheriff, and the City of Kerrville Police Department are both directing people to donate money thru them. Those funds will go to what they call “vetted organizations providing rescue, relief, and recovery efforts as well as flood assistance” in the communities of Hunt, Ingram, Kerrville, Center Point, and Comfort.

The Salvation Army

The Salvation Army has boots on the ground across Texas. We reached out to our partners at the Salvation Army of Bryan/College Station who say they don’t need any more donated items but instead were focusing on monetary donations.

You can also donate specifically to the Kerrville Salvation Army here.

The Center Point Volunteer Fire Department

The Center Point Volunteer Fire Department says their “VENMO account is up and operating….People wishing to make donations should look for the Venmo “Business” account listed as Center Point Volunteer Fire Department…most importantly people need to look for the user name: CPVFDTX

The scammers have created user names by adding extra letters, dashes, underscores, etc. They even used our logo. I’m in contact with Venmo to eliminate the bogus accounts.
Look for the fire department name that is a “Business” account. That’s the legitimate one along with our user name.”

Texsar

Texsar (Texas Search and Rescue) is a volunteer-based search and rescue organization, who have deployed teams to the flooded areas.

World Central Kitchen

World Central Kitchen, is a non-profit that deploys to disaster areas to provide meals and water.

Austin Pets Alive!

Austin Pets Alive! has taken in more than 150 displaced pets from the floods in the greater Austin area. They said they were most in need of monetary donations, as well as pet supplies.

H-E-B

H-E-B locations have launched their “Spirit of Giving Fund” for Hill Country disaster relief. You can donate at the register or with your Curbside or Delivery order. 100% of your donations will go towards the fund.

Mercy Chefs

Mercy Chefs is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing chef-prepared meals to first responders and volunteers. They have sent a team to Central Texas to provide meals to those working search, rescue and recovery.

HOW TO VOLUNTEER

Volunteers are asked to go to Texas Volunteer Recovery if they would like to offer on the ground assistance in relief efforts. They ask that you not self-deploy to the flooded areas as it has interfered with the plans that first responders have in place.

Flooding has also impacted areas around Georgetown, Liberty Hill, Leander, and areas of the Northern Hill Country off to the west of those locations. The death toll across the state is at 69, with more still missing 😢

💔 WHEN THE BADGES BREAK 💔
This powerful image says it all — even the strongest carry the weight.

As rescue and recovery efforts continue in the wake of the Kerrville floods, we ask you to keep praying.
🙏 For the families grieving unthinkable loss.
🙏 For the first responders pushing through heartbreak to keep going.
