Tonight’s Collierville Planning Commission Board meeting was streamed by a talented crew featuring two of our brand-new Intro to Videography students working right alongside two of our seasoned advanced students. 🙌

It’s always exciting to see fresh energy join our program and step up to serve our community. The students were especially thrilled to capture the news that a brand-new escape room is tentatively approved to come to Collierville! 🗝️🔐

🚒🔥 Fire Safety + Student Creativity = PSA Contest! 🔥🚒

Today we had the honor of welcoming Fire Education Specialist & Lieutenant Jessica Curran from the Collierville Fire Department. She shared vital details about the ongoing PSA contest—covering the dangers of improper lithium-ion battery usage, what students should include in their PSAs, and the overall contest guidelines.

Her session was both eye-opening and inspiring as students learned how their creativity can make a real impact in keeping our community safe.

Now… confession time 😅 → We were having so much fun, we forgot to take a picture! So, we asked ChatGPT to make a pretend version. If you squint, it almost looks like Lieutenant Curran. (We promise the real one is even better! 😉)

We can’t wait to see what the students come up with!

August 23rd was a HUGE learning experience as DragonMedia pulled off our own version of ESPN College GameDay alongside Collierville High School Football Boosters and the Dragon Football team! 🐉🏈

The Football Boosters Club went all out—renting the tent, stage, and massive LED screen while creating an incredible tailgating experience for fans. 🎪🔥🍔

Our show was fully student-staffed, student-produced, and student-directed—giving students the chance to work through the real challenges of live production. From setup and internet issues to the ultimate test of striking everything fast and hustling to the stadium to reset before kickoff at 6 PM, our crew experienced it all. ⏱️⚡

The full production, including videos, graphics, and breaks, will be posted this upcoming week on Dragon Media. Stay tuned! 🎥📺

So proud of our students for their teamwork, problem-solving, and professionalism in pulling off such a major production! 👏👏

Big thanks to Robbie Weaver, Senior Manager for the Memphis Grizzlies Broadcast Team, for visiting Dragon Media students at Collierville High today! 🎥🐉

Mr. Weaver shared insights on entry-level opportunities in sports broadcasting, the career-ready skills needed to succeed, and what it takes to deliver a top-tier NBA broadcast. Students also got hands-on coaching as he worked alongside them on camera shots, graphics, and script prep for tomorrow’s debut of our first-ever Collierville GameDay broadcast!

We are grateful for this amazing opportunity to learn from one of the best in the business. 🏀📺

🚀🐉Dragons Take Flight with FedEx!🐉🚀

Collierville High School is proud to announce that several of our outstanding seniors have officially signed on for Work-Based Learning internships with FedEx at the company’s World Headquarters in Memphis, Tennessee**! 📦✈️

Through this prestigious program, our students will work side-by-side with FedEx professionals in the Global Logistics Department. Students will improve in areas such as business operations, logistics, communications, and technology. This hands-on experience will give them a competitive edge—building workplace skills, professional networks, and insight into one of the most respected global companies. 💼🌍

These internships are a shining example of how Collierville Schools partners with industry leaders to prepare students for college, career, and beyond. Congratulations to our 2025 interns—we can’t wait to see the impact you’ll make at FedEx and the bright futures you’ll create for yourselves!
