Last year we canned dozens of jars of cranberry juice but this recipe works with any fruit!

I have fallen in love with making my own juice I’ve have branched out into blueberries and pineapple. These were on clearance and I couldn’t resist. I have calculated the cost per quart and it was less than .34 cents a quart (this doesn’t include jar cost because they were free years ago). In a world where anything slightly good for you costs a fortune you can’t afford not to make your own.

This recipe is as follows:

Quart jars and rings
1 3/4 cup fresh fruit or frozen (make sure you wash them!)
1/3 cup sugar (or a sugar substitute like honey)
Fill with water
Hand tighten the lids
Water bath totally submereged for 20 minutes at a rolling boil

These will need to steep for at least 4 weeks preferably 6 weeks of possible.

And went outside, then forgot what I went out for in the first place 😂

In the spirit of Christmas in July I wanted to share what I have been doing for a few years now for my family. I have given baskets that I thrifted, filled with homemade goods and household items such as laundry soap, toothbrushs, shampoos/conditioners, and so much more.

Why practical gift giving is sometimes frowned upon i will never know!

Deworming goats has to be my least favorite task on the farm; what is yours?

Our Story

We are a small family owned farm located in the small town of Collinsville, Oklahoma. We are making some big changes here on the farm, branching out and working towards expanding our little farm to bring more offerings to our local farmers markets. We took on a bee hive earlier this year and we will be expanding that operation in the spring of 2020. We will be offering locally grown vegetables, canned goods, and more.

We are NPIP certified, member of the APA/ABA and American Silkie Bantam Club and I am also the Arkansas State representative for the American Silkie Bantam Club.

Since I was a young child my passion for poultry and farming has been an ever growing love. Raising chickens most of my life has given me some of the best experiences and memories. When I met my husband I told him it was my dream to have a farm and raise exhibition poultry again, luckily it became his dream too! We have a beautiful daughter name Grace Lynn who was born with a CHD (Congenital Heart Defect) in 2018 who since she came home from heart surgery is the soul of our little homestead. Daily Grace makes her way out to help watch her mama tend to the chickens and loves to pet the “chick chicks”.
