Colorado City Record Newspaper Office The Colorado City Record was founded in 1905 by the Kindred family, who promptly sold it to the Whipkey family. F.B. and A.L. Whipkey took over.

Whipkey operated the Record from 1905 until 1926, when W.W. The latter Whipkey sold it in 1948 to Pete Geller, who kept it for four years, selling it to Joe Bell in 1952. The Bell ownership lasted until Mac McKinnon took over in 1971. Today the newspaper is owned and published by Earl Plagens. Founded: 1905

WATER LINE BREAK UPDATE – COLORADO CITY

Colorado City Mayor Ruben Hurt has provided an update following the major water line break:

Water crews worked into the early morning hours, and the leak has now been repaired.

Colorado City is currently under a Boil Water Notice until the City is officially released from the notice by TCEQ. Residents should continue to follow the Boil Water Notice until further notice. We’ll share additional updates as they become available from City Hall and Wolf 107.1

The City of Colorado City Water Department is working on a water line break. Citizens will experience a loss of water pressure. Water pressure will be restored once the line is repaired.

The City of Colorado City WILL BE UNDER A BOILED WATER ADVISORY until further notice, after the water line is repaired.
