From City of Colorado City…

Colorado City moved a step closer to a better water system on Friday. Colorado City Mayor Ruben Hurt signed paperwork to secure a $27 million USDA loan. The loan includes a $6.5 million grant. The funds will be used to make repairs to the city’s aging water infrastructure. The deal must still be approved by the Colorado City City Council.

Paperwork, etc. still needs to be drafted and it could be up to 18 months before construction would begin.

To the citizens of Colorado City… we just got word from city officials that there is another water leak and the pressure is dropping fast. Please try and conserve until the water department finds and repairs this leak. Let’s not go into a “no water” situation if we can help it. If we all use the minimum, we ALL may continue to have water. Please, let’s work together to help ourselves. We will pass on any information we get.

Yes, it’s true. The city has another large water break and has turned off the water to conserve what the towers have built up. It was pouring out fast and had to be turned off. The repairs should be pretty straightforward and relatively quick, so please be patient, and again CONSERVE, and we should all have water this evening, if all goes well.

PLEASE CONSERVE WATER!!!
In order for everyone to have good pressure water, the water tower needs to be completely full. There as of this moment being too much water being used, therefor the tower’s water level is decreasing quickly. Once the city’s water tower is full, we will all be able to enjoy watering our plants, washing dishes, laundry, etc. But right now, we need to conserve! City hall is requesting we all pull together to make it out of this crisis. We can do it!
