📢PROJECT NEWS📢 | Resurfacing project to begin on US 160 west of Walsenburg

🗺WHERE? The project will improve approximately 11 miles along US 160 west of Walsenburg from Mile Point 294.4, near US 160/CO Highway 12 intersection, to MP 305.4, near Main Street in Walsenburg.

🚜WHAT? Roadway work will include milling old asphalt, paving with new asphalt, bridge deck repairs, road sign replacement and striping. The project is scheduled for completion in September.

⚠️TRAVEL IMPACTS: Daytime work hours are one half hour after sunrise and until one half hour before sunset Monday through Friday. Single lane closures and one-lane alternating traffic will take place in the work zone. Plan for up to 15-minute delays and speed reduction, as well as a 12-foot width restriction in place.

📢PROJECT NEWS📢 | Cable rail installation project to begin north of Pueblo on I-25

🗺WHERE? In the median of Interstate 25 just north of Pueblo on I-25 between Mile Point 108.5 and MP 114.1.

🚜WHAT? The cable rail installation will require some grading work, and cleaning culverts and inlets to address drainage. The contractor will also install a w**d barrier and update the existing guardrail. This project will significantly improve the safety of motorists along the corridor. The cable rail will act as a barrier, preventing vehicles from crossing the median and entering oncoming traffic lanes.

⚠️TRAVEL IMPACTS: Beginning, Monday, April 6, 2026 motorists should expect work hours 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. Median shoulder closures and some inside single lane closures will take place within the work zone. Motorists are urged to drive with caution, heed all signs, and leave plenty of following distance when traveling through the area.
