As a 4th generation American, and my parents and grandparents were migrant farm workers. I recognize that my own ancestors came to this country in search of a better life—just like so many others before and after them. I stand in support of the human dignity, courage, and resilience it takes to start over in a new place. No matter where we come from, we all share the hope for safety, opportunity, and a brighter future. Pictured are my grandparents in Michigan where they traveled with their children every year to work the fields. They were both born in America yet faced so much discrimination because of the color of their skin. My grandfather was also a WW2 vet. 💛
