KTNG 860AM is a non-profit public broadcast and media arts center, created for the unification of both African-American and Mexican-American’s for social, educational and youth empowerment issues affecting the community of Compton. Owned and managed by Jah One Up Networks Ltd., we strive to bring the collaborative efforts in community affairs programming that will offer an alternative benefit to o

ur communities of color as a voice, unbiased in today’s public media structure. We offer a unique paradigm in Youth Apprenticeship in the media arts for journalism, film, public access to local performing artist, cultural studies through our Books to Mp3 and Mobile applications and member web site for general memberships of support to increase the value of KTNG. In a diverse community as Los Angeles; research shows that 35% of the population - ages 18 – 30 are but of dropouts from high school and become “at-risk” for a growing criminal cultural. When surveyed to the public at 100% of its value; we found many people yearn for the needs of cultural studies - which are missing from our schools, community affairs news that does include our communities and accredited advocacy for youth apprenticeship in the media arts. Our goal is to create a Media Arts Center that allows our “at-risk youth” a better opportunity in the media arts, cultural edification and become a place and model for public discussion to help better our school systems. Though we are a small AM station, we will do what no public radio station has done before: to build a public format for community affairs. We are imploring support and to raise the funds needed to open the Media Center by 1 Jan and with your help. To do so will show that we can do so as a unified community of caring people. KTNG 860AM is founded by Jeff Jaggers and Mohammed Martinez, past radio talent from KPFK 90.7 fm, are a known cult-status in Compton and the surrounding counties, since 1993. We have worked in all facets of journalism and have more than ample credit to our professions, when it comes to both print and electronic media. We have worked in the public sector for a combined 90 years, in this capacity and have enjoyed working together for the past 25 years.
