Last night I had the opportunity to sit and have dinner with Mayor Yemi Mobolade at a friend’s wedding. What an incredible human being—kind, grounded, and deeply committed to our community here in Colorado Springs.

We had a wonderful conversation, and I learned that El Paso County is doing some truly powerful work in the space of su***de prevention. It’s inspiring to see local leadership not only talking about mental health but actually taking action to make a difference.

As someone who works in trauma healing every day, I’m reminded how important it is that we keep these conversations going—at every level, from our homes to our city hall. Healing happens in community. 💛

🎸 FIRST ANNUAL Pikes Peak Battle of the Cover Bands! 🎤

Colorado Springs — the stage is set and the amps are hot! This is your chance to perform live, grow your fanbase, and get noticed by venue owners and booking managers from across the Front Range.

📅 Starting January 14, 2026
• Competitions held every other Wednesday for two months
• 6 bands perform each night
• 3 bands from each Wednesday advance to the Semi-Finals
• Semi-Finals will be held on a Saturday (date announced 30 days prior)
• The Top 6 semi-finalists move on to the Finals in March

🏆 Grand Prize:
• $500 cash, courtesy of Good Company Restaurant & Bar
• Plus, we’re working on adding a FREE professional recording session for the winning band! (details coming soon 🎶)

🎤 Judging Criteria:
Bands will be scored in three categories:
1️⃣ Band Cohesion – how tight and unified you sound
2️⃣ Overall Talent – musicianship, vocals, and ex*****on
3️⃣ Stage Presence – how you command and move the crowd

• A short band bio/description
• A band photo
• A video submission of your band performing a song of your choice
