With Q4 right around the corner, time is literally money.

If you want to double your holiday profits this year, it isn't about working 20-hour days, it’s about focusing on high-margin winners and cutting out the time suckers.

Here are 3 quick strategies to maximize your shop's profits before the holiday rush hits:

1. ❌ Skip the Time Traps

Avoid overly complex, highly customized items that take 45 minutes of laser time and an hour of hand-assembly just for a $15 sale (think ultra-intricate 3D layered ornaments with custom names for every single piece). Instead, stick to items you can pre-cut, batch, or offer with minimal personalized tweaks (like engraved leather patch hats or pre-assembled gift tags).

2. ⚑ Master Batching

Never cut one item at a time! Group your files by material type, fill your entire laser bed, and run identical cuts together. Batching reduces setup time, cuts down on material waste, and lets you assemble 20 finished products in a single sitting.

3. 🧺 Bundle Everything

Instead of selling a $5 ornament, a $15 cutting board and a little $10 Merry Christmas Sign, sell all 3 in a bundle. Stick them in a nice box or basket and instead of the $30 you'd make selling everything separately, sell it for $50+. Trust me, the perceived value goes way up when you group things together.

First, let's line up an engraving design on the wood handle of this bottle opener. Make sure you have the blue diode laser selected.

Wood settings for this are 78 power, 200 speed, 125 line density. Perfect.

Now let's engrave the metal part! Don't forget to re-focus it!

Now back into the makeit program and switch it over to fiber laser mode and align the pattern and send it on it's way!

Settings for this was 100 power, 250 Speed, 48 Frequency and 250 Line Density.

No need to switch machines, a complete project in less than 5 minutes.
