Decisions, decisions. Which one? Still don’t know. A light, quick handling 308 is no joke and can wear many hat. I’m more fond of the red dots on it than I expected, just need a magnifier. The Romeo 5 is even high enough that you can see the iron sights and is only 8lbs with the dot and suppressor. And I haven’t even messed with the micro prism on it yet….either way I think I need a QD mount for whatever optic gets the nod. Gotta be able to get to those irons quick ;)

Nothing like catching the limit. Whole big pile of fish in under 4 hours. Blues and Channels, all good eating size. Biggest was about 6lbs with most in the 2-4 lb range, all caught on punch bait in about 30ft of water. Mature fish were still up spawning during this trip. Next time maybe we will hook into some big ones when we take the boys at later in the summer

It was the girls’ turn to go out fishing this time and we sure got into some fish! Went out with Rodney from Hooked On Rod’s guide service on lake Texoma. Great day, girls loved it even if they couldn’t sit still after a while and had to play in the bait 🤷🏻‍♂️. Did you see my super gigantic catch?!? Of course you did….

It’s getting to be that time of year. Off-season activities are in full swing and the garden is starting to kick out a few things and my wife bought me an for my birthday that I had to try out immediately. This was my first run at dry herbs from the garden. I dried dill, parsley, and sage, and sealed the parsley and sage together. Anything worth adding one to is worth adding the other, right? I use parsley and sage heavily in my ground wild game meat. Learned a few things along the way and will be doing a few things different next time!
