A meeting will be held at OCC Brewing on Wednesday, February 23rd at 4pm with John Crawford, Parking Manager for the City of Colorado Springs.

This is your chance to ask questions, offer reasonable solutions, and make your voice be heard. I would ask that everyone please refrain from emotional outbursts. We want to present our community in a professional manner and what has mom always said “you get further with honey than vinegar.” It’s true. So, I know we are all upset about the situation, and I have met with John personally to discuss this and topics we have covered:

1. Liability and safety issues with street parking
2. Financial hardships of OCC vs. Downtown business owners
3. Consideration of customers parking / shopping for longer than 3 hours
4. Lack of adequate parking for business owners and/or employees
5. Lack of communication and solutions presented by city

If you have solutions or ideas, please bring them.

Also, PLEASE forward to owners that you think might be affected, I do not have everyone’s email! Thank you!

How do you think the construction for this will affect the traffic and travel through the area?

That's that spot that was a vet, between the gas station and the garden center on Uintah. It's a tight spot on a cliff area, so construction could become complicated. Personally, I think that they will end up having to close Uintah and prevent thru traffic for a period of time which could make it VERY difficult to get to Kings Soopers and the other shops in that shopping center.

Have you checked out the new rules for the parking meters in Colorado Springs?!
Monday through Saturday the new hours are 7a.m. to 10p.m. and Sunday 1 to 10p.m. and it is NO LONGER free on the weekends! Yikes 😱

Have you taken a look at the new laws rolling out for Colorado starting Jan. 1st 2020?

There are new laws for gun rights, health care, identity documentation for Transgender persons, minimum wage, ma*****na hospitality establishments, and MUCH more. I suggest you take a 'peak' (pun intended)!
