Lorain County Fair brings back the 2020 Fireworks

There will be Fireworks in Wellington on July 3. Many of you already know that the Wellington Chamber of Commerce, who always sponsors the fireworks show, cancelled them this year. The Fair Board voted to fund-raise to bring them back to the community and the fireworks are now scheduled for 10 p.m. on July 3 with Nashville Recording Artist Erin Stoll performing the National Anthem to open the show.
In addition to the fireworks, our Drive-Thru Food Vendor Weekends will continue through July, and on the holiday weekend, Pigfoot Barbeque will feature barbeque ribs, pulled pork, beef brisket, and ½ chicken dinners, Bubblegum Concessions will have gyros, funnel cakes, elephant ears, and ice cream, and GLO Concessions will offer Italian sausage, Philly cheesesteaks, fried veggies, corn dogs, fresh cut fries, cotton candy and more! They will be open from noon-10 p.m. on July 3, noon-8 p.m. on July 4, and noon-6 p.m. on July 5. Follow Lorain County Fair’s page for all details, including a full menu, pricing, and how to text in your order and have it ready for pick-up.
Thank you to Bubblegum Concessions, the Village of Wellington, and Wellington Chamber of Commerce who are “Explosion Sponsors” donating $1,000 or more and our “Rocket Sponsors,” GLO Concessions and Wellington Music/Cheryl’s Crows, making $500 donations, and all those who donated to help make the fireworks possible.
This will be a “drive in” fireworks display and you will be asked to maintain social distancing between vehicles when you park. When you are out of your vehicle, we also ask that you stay close to your vehicle and follow social distancing guidelines from those outside the car next to you. You will not be able to walk up to the vendors or onto the fairgrounds and the public bathrooms will be locked, although there will be port-a-potties in the parking lot courtesy of P&J Sanitation.
