Thursday evening update: Our weekend winter storm isn't backing down, with snow totals continuing to inch higher in newer forecasts. We'll be dry through tomorrow, but wind chills will already be double digits below zero at times on Friday.

Snow will first start falling Saturday morning, possibly struggling against dry air early, but becoming widespread throughout the day. A brief lull in heavy snow is possible late Saturday, before a second round of widespread, heavy snow through early Sunday. Heavy snow will end by noon on Sunday, but flurries may continue through the end of the day. Snow totals continue to climb, now up to a half foot in northern Missouri. Over half of Mid-Missouri is now expected to see 8 to 12 or more inches of snow along and south of I-70.

You should already have preparations done, with brutal cold moving in tomorrow. Travel conditions will quickly deteriorate on Saturday, and roads may be hard to treat through Sunday and Monday due to the extreme cold.
