It gave us joy to donate copies of A Day at Shea, A Day at Shea coloring books, and squishy baseballs 🧸 to bring smiles to the incredible kids. Christina had the honor of reading A Day at Shea during a special storytime ✨📖

A night of style, creativity, and legacy.✨
Christina and Eddie attended the 2025 Baltimore Met Gala Designer Reveal hosted by the theme:
TIMELESS: The Evolution of Style — Past. Present. Future. 🕰️👗👔

The designers selected at the reveal will grace the BMG runway this September 13th.

We were thrilled to support and celebrate local DMV fashion designers. The DMV is such a small but mighty world, we saw powerhouses including the visionary✨️🔥 Iran "Bang" Paylor and the fierce and fabulous WBC and WBA Champ Franchón Crews-Dezurn 💥🥊We met them both at the show.

Their designs are more than fashion they’re storytelling in design.

Sunday, Eddie Sledge proudly celebrated a major milestone—his 40th unit of blood donated. Surrounded by the dedicated and compassionate staff who have supported him throughout his journey, Eddie marked this incredible achievement at the American Red Cross donation center in Columbia, Maryland.

For over 16 years, the Howard County team has been there providing encouragement, helping Eddie fulfill his mission of giving back. He extends a heartfelt thank you to the American Red Cross and the American Red Cross of the National Capital and Greater Chesapeake Region for the opportunity to help save lives, one unit at a time.

Eddie continues to encourage others to donate blood whenever possible. “Someone needs it and someone will definitely use it,” he says.

His wife, Christina Sledge is a recipient of life saving blood donations during a complicated surgery and gives back as a proud member of the Board of Directors for the Montgomery, Howard and Frederick Counties Chapter of the American Red Cross.

June 19th is Juneteenth, a federal holiday and a celebration of resilience, liberation, and the ongoing pursuit of justice. ✊🏾🖤💚❤️

While the Emancipation Proclamation was issued in 1863, it wasn’t until June 19, 1865, when Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, that the last enslaved African Americans were informed of their freedom—over two years later.

This day became known as Juneteenth, also called Freedom Day, and has been celebrated ever since as a powerful reminder of both the delay in justice and the strength of Black communities.

Here’s a quick timeline:
📜 1863 Emancipation Proclamation issued
📜 January 31, 1865 13th Amendment passed by Congress
📜 June 19, 1865 Freedom enforced in Texas
📜 December 6, 1865 13th Amendment ratified
📜 14th and 15th Amendments Granted citizenship and voting rights to formerly enslaved people

As we honor Juneteenth, we reflect on the past, acknowledge the present, and stay committed to shaping a more just future.

🏆🐦‍⬛ EASTERN CONFERENCE CHAMPS! 🏀💥
The Capital Seahawks came to PLAY and snatched that W from the Frederick Flying Cows in an epic showdown!

It was a house divided—Christina and Eddie reppin’ the Seahawks ❤️💛 while our daughters were full-on Flying Cow fans 🐮😂 (Can you blame them? They’re rooting for Tavares Sledge—clearly fam—and our guy Javon Adams 💪🏽).

The create an unmatched electric game atmosphere. Go to one of thei home games you will really enjoy it!!! More cow bell!!!! 🔔🐄🐮 they were tough to beat!

But the Seahawks said not today!
🔥 Shout out to Andre Fox for the clutch game-winning shot!
🙌 Big congrats to Tayvon Jackson & Vanessa Patterson on leading your squad to the Eastern Conference finals in your first year!
