◾️ SHERIFF’S OFFICE ARRESTS COLUMBIA MAN REPORTING FALSE HOSTAGE SITUATION, DEPUTY ALSO ASSAULTED ◾️
On Thursday, June 11th, 2026, Deputies with the Adair County Sheriff’s Office responded to 1253 Campbellsville Road, where a male subject had called a family member and stated people were being held hostage at the location.

Upon arrival deputies checked the residence and found that no one was being held hostage.

Deputies made contact with Zachary Ballou, age 30, of Columbia outside the residence and placed him under arrest.

As deputies were taking Ballou to the patrol car, he kicked one of the deputies.

Ballou was charged with:
False Report which Generates an Emergency Response
Assault 3rd Degree Police Officer
Alcohol Intoxication

The arrest was made by Deputy Hunter Tweedy, who was assisted by Deputy Nick Barber

Today, I would like to focus on Men's Health Month, to raise awareness about preventable health problems and encourage early detection and treatment of diseases. It emphasizes the importance of regular physical exams, mental well-being, and healthy lifestyle choices for men and boys of all ages.

WHAT... Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

WHERE... Portions of central and south central Kentucky, including the following counties, in central Kentucky, Green, Hart and Taylor. In south central Kentucky, Adair, Barren and Metcalfe.

WHEN... Until 1000 AM CDT/1100 AM EDT.

IMPACTS... Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS... At 648 AM CDT /748 AM EDT/, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 1.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Campbellsville, Columbia, Greensburg, Munfordville, Three Springs, Monroe, Thurlow, Newt, Grab and Webbs.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you can do so safely and have them relay your report to the National Weather Service in Louisville.
