The cable company has hit one of our main water line in the Mt. Carmel Holmes bend area.

It’s a bad one so it will take a while to fix.

Areas affected are 551, Egypt, to the bridge, Mt. Carmel, Holmes Bend.

At 446 PM EDT/346 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 11 miles west of Lebanon to near Campbellsville to Greensburg, moving east at 25 mph.

HAZARD... 60 mph wind gusts.

IMPACT... Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

•City Council passed a resolution authorizing the Columbia Fire Department to obtain reimbursement of cost for the City of Columbia emergency services from insurance providers when available.

•The Mayor noted that two additional fire hydrants are going to be placed in the area off of North Highway 55, near vicinity of Bramlett Street.

“Bring your family and friends for a day on the farm filled with live music, craft vendors, food trucks, pony rides, hayrides, bounce houses, kids’ fishing derby, 4-H petting farm, kiddie barrel train, educational demonstrations and more! Admission $5 per person or $20 per carload of four or more.”

◾️ SATURDAY SESSION: HERITAGE WALKING TOUR OF DOWNTOWN COLUMBIA ◾️
“The next Saturday Session of the Adair Genealogical Society and Adair Genealogy & History Research Center is coming upon us. The 5th scheduled session--and 2nd Walking Tour for this year is: A Heritage Walking Tour of Downtown Columbia, scheduled for Saturday, September 12th at 6pm CT. I (Mike Watson) will lead a group from the Research Center [307 Greensburg Street] to the Public Square and take a few side trips on the way down and back. The topics will vary, but generally deal with early formation of the town and some of the Revolutionary War veterans and patriots who contributed to make this a thriving town.”
