The South Carolina United Methodist Advocate is the newspaper for United Methodists in South Carolina and beyond. The Advocate is the oldest newspaper in Methodism and has been in existence since 1837. It has won more than 100 writing and journalism excellence awards since 2010. Recently, it launched a new endeavor: book publishing through the Advocate Press. Jessica Brodie is editor and Allison Trussell is assistant editor. http://www.advocatesc.org
