Happy 2L Tuesday! Today we are highlighting Sierra Heil! Sierra, who is originally from Sebastopol, California, attended Clemson University, where she earned her Bachelors degree in Marketing.

Since she began at the School of Law, Sierra has gained valuable legal work experience. Sierra has worked as a legal assistant in intellectual law at Schwartz Law Firm, P.C. in Charlotte, North Carolina, and has been a legal & business intern at Vanguard Sports Group. Additionally, Sierra plans on studying abroad in London, England during the first half of her summer before working again Schwartz Law Firm, P.C. during the second half.

Outside of her time on SCJILB, Sierra is also a member of the Sports and Entertainment Law Society. Further, in her free time Sierra enjoys playing with her two dogs, hiking, playing fantasy sports, and playing soccer. Finally, a little known fact about Sierra is that she used to track live statistics and tweet during games for Clemson’s baseball team! We’re glad to have Sierra on SCJILB and know that she will do great things as one of our Articles Editors for Volume 20! Job well done, Sierra!

Happy 2L Tuesday! Today we are highlighting Kyle Cooper! Kyle, who hails from Vienna, Virginia, is a graduate of James Madison University, where he earned his Bachelors in Psychology.

During his time at the School of Law, Kyle has gained valuable legal work experience as a law clerk for Worron & Dhillon Injury Law and as a clerk at the senate judiciary committee. Additionally, Kyle will clerk at Collins & Lacy this summer. Plus, outside of SCJILB, Kyle is a member of the South Carolina Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

In his free time, Kyle enjoys fixing his car, playing competitive chess, and listening to music. Finally, a little-known fact about Kyle is that he once beat Alex Trebek in rock, paper, scissors! We are proud to have Kyle on SCJILB and know he will do great things as one of our next Senior Articles Editors for Volume 20! Well done and keep on rockin’ Kyle!

Happy 2L Tuesday! Today we are highlighting Ashbrook Gwinn! Ashbrook is originally from Aiken, South Carolina and attended Boston College for undergrad, where she earned her Bachelors in Sociology.

Ashbrook has also gained some valuable legal work experience as well. She has interned with the Honorable J. Sherri A. Lydon and was a research assistant for Professor Brown at the School of Law. Plus, this summer Ashbrook plans on clerking with Maynard Nexsen and Nelson Mullins in Columbia, South Carolina. Further, outside of her law school commitments to SCJILB, Ashbrook is also a member of Women in Law.

In her free time, Ashbrook enjoys soccer, water skiing, and running, which she considers to be the best part of her day. A fun fact about Ashbrook is that she was a college athlete, as she ran cross country and track during her time at Boston College! We are thankful to have Ashbrook on SCJILB and look forward to the great things she will do as one of our incoming Articles Editors for Volume 20! Keep up the good work, Ashbrook!

Happy 3L Thursday! Today we are highlighting one of our Articles Editors, Anna Mobley! Anna is originally from Greenville, South Carolina and attended Clemson University, where she earned her Bachelors degree in Economics. Anna also earned her Master of Arts in Financial Economics from the Darla Moore School of Business before starting law school.

Anna has also gained valuable legal work experience during her time at the School of Law. During her first summer, she split her time clerking at Butler Snow, LLP in Charleston, South Carolina office, and at Elevation LLC, in Charlotte, North Carolina. Anna also split her second summer clerking again with Butler Snow LLP and also clerked with Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick LLP in Charleston, South Carolina. After graduation, Anna will be working for Butler Snow in Charleston, South Carolina.

Outside of law school, Anna enjoys cooking, reading, and walking. Finally, a little-known fact about Anna is that she studied abroad in Florence, Italy during one of her summers! We are honored to have Anna on SCJILB and wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors! Ottimo lavoro (great job), Anna!

Happy 2L Tuesday everyone! Today we are highlighting Fay Edwards! Fay originally hails from Stone Mountain, Georgia, but she earned her Bachelors in Public Relations, with a specialization in Sports and Entertainment from the University of Alabama.

Additionally, since her start at the School of Law, Fay has gained valuable legal experience as a law clerk with Nexsen Pruet (currently known as Maynard Nexsen) and has interned for UofSC Law alumnae, the Honorable J. Michelle Childs. This summer Fay plans on splitting her summer between Maynard Nexsen and Fulcher Hagler, a firm based in Georgia. Fay’s areas of practice interest include employment law, business litigation, and transactional work. Other than SCJILB, Fay is also involved as a member in the Black Law Student Association, Student Bar Association, Women in Law, and the Business Law Society. Plus, outside of law school, Fay is a member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

In her free time, Fay enjoys watching competitive cheerleading, gymnastics, and college football, specifically the Universities of Alabama and South Carolina. Finally, fun fact about Fay is that she is a microinfluencer on Instagram! We’re glad to have Fay on SCJILB and look forward to all that she does as a managing editor next year for Volume 20! Well done, Fay!

Happy 2L Tuesday! Today we are highlighting Zach Bozard! Zach, originally from St. George, South Carolina, attended Clemson University, where he earned his bachelors in History.

After entering the School of Law, Zach has gained valuable legal experience as a Rule of Law Collaborative research assistant with the School of Law. Additionally, Zach is involved in other organizations outside of SCJILB. He is a member of the Business Law Association, the Sports and Entertainment Law Society, Intellectual Property Law Society, and International Law Society.

Finally, outside of law school, Zach enjoys reading, Dungeons and Dragons, football, basketball, and soccer. We are thrilled to have Zach on SCJILB and know he will be an asset as the Senior Articles Editors for Volume 20!

Happy 2L Tuesday! Today we would like to highlight Kenley Richardson! Kenley, a native of Apopka, Florida, earned her Bachelors degree in Political Science and a minor in Medical Anthropology from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill.

Since her graduation from undergrad, Kenley has acquired legal experience as a law clerk working for the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office in the Sexually Violent Predator Unit. Additionally, Kenley has worked as a legal intern for the Office of the State Attorney, 13th Judicial District in Florida. This coming summer, Kenley will be a law clerk for McAngus, Goudelock & Courie at their Greenville, South Carolina location.

Outside of her commitments to SCJILB, Kenley is a member of Women in Law, Health Law Society, Moot Court Bar, and Civil Rights and Engagement Society. She also enjoys watching UNC basketball games and reality TV, spending time with her pup, listening to podcasts, eating Italian food, and travelling. In fact, Kenley has travelled to 18 different countries!

Happy 3L Thursday everyone! Today we are highlighting Beaufort, SC native, Michaela Russell! Michaela is a graduate of Clemson University, where she earned her degree in Sociology.

Michaela also has legal work experience, both as a legal intern with Trane Technologies and as a law clerk for Duff Freeman Lyon, specifically in the practice area of education law. After graduation Michaela will be staying in Columbia, SC to work as a Staff Attorney at the South Carolina Court of Appeals!

In addition to time as one of SCJILB’s Symposium Editors, Michaela is a member of Women in Law, Labor and Employment Law Society, and the Health Law Society here at the School of Law. Further, outside of law school, Michaela coaches summer league swim team in Columbia, SC. Finally, Michaela has a yellow lab named Gamble!
